Just wanted to give a shout out to B&H as being a terrific place to do online business for tech/electronics stuff. I've bought a few things there over the years, and got some good deals but don't recall having any problems that weren't resolved. On the contrary, they have been very helpful and flexible to work with.

Case in point - I ordered a nice turntable from them. It was an open box customer return so had a substantial discount. It arrived quickly and after a quick operational check I took it to a local shop to buy a cartridge and have it mounted. 1st issue - the headshell was missing. Chatted & called B&H about it, they agreed to reimburse me for one, just send the invoice. Nice. Then I realized a few days later, the hinges for the dust cover were also missing. Frankly, I got a good enough deal on it that I was willing to eat the cost but checked with them to see if there was any parts they had or anything. Once again, they just said buy one, send us the invoice. All done in an hour or two.

I don't think I could have done that with, say, Amazon. It almost certainly would have only given me an option to return the item, which in this case I really want to keep above the fact that I got a smokin' deal on it.

Yeah, B&H is solid. Not being able to make an online order during Shabbat is annoying, but beyond that, solid

I was a bit nervous the first time I purchased from them. I would highly recommend them now.

I have been using B&H since the late 90's never once had an issue with them, I consider them a totally trustworthy source.

The observant peeps need Shabbos Goyim to push elevator buttons. The lack of orders on Shabbat was weird when I first read it, but I started thinking about order to fulfilment SLAs and warranty periods, and it makes sense. Nobody reads the notice that "orders placed after noon on Friday will be processed until after Shabbat," I'm sure. It's probably the only way to avoid 1,000 reviews where the response is, "We told you we wouldn't ship until Monday, you didn't listen."

Over/under on how many Bar/Bat Mitzvahs their equipment has been involved in? I'd wager at least tens out thousands of them a year.

Great company. Have bought tons from them. Use them for both film and digital supplies.

If you signup for their PayBoo credit card you can skip paying state sales tax too. Just put it on the card and pay it off immediately and they don't charge you. Works great.

Agreed - did that a few years ago for a previous large-ish purchase, worth it. Another 7.5% discount for me.

My credit card was stolen last time I ordered from B&H. I got my order but was blessed with getting a replacement card and having to update all my autopays. That’s my only complaint with them. I’ve ordered from them a few times in the past. No issues until the last order.

I have a friend who who works for them. He's a non-observant Jew. The owners and mgmt are Hasidic Jews. They drive him nuts. They can be incredibly unreasonable. If you know Hasidics it makes sense.

But they are a great company to deal with. Possibly the best.

B&H and Adorama are both great resellers. I’ve bought cameras, Apple products, and some drones from them. Best prices and fast shipping.

If you like cameras and lenses, check KEH out. I went through a pretty long phase of mounting legacy prime lenses on my Olympus m4/3 cameras, using adapters and shooting Aperture Priority, also picked up some super-cheap nice 35mm mechanical cameras just for fun.

I've managed to pick up a near-complete set of Minolta Rokkor primes over the years, which has been a fantastic experience. Also some Konica Hexanon lenses in sizes you don't often come across. Super sharp lenses, even by today's standards, they just don't auto-focus. That's fine if you are interested in depth of field and know your range.
