I won't link the story because it's a veiled advertisement, but I've been saying it for years. Wireless Earbuds suck. They're (overly) expensive, run out of charge at the most inconvenient times, and, worst of all, it's way to easy to lose one or both of them. It's why I've been a big proponent of wired earbuds/headphones ever since this "trend" started (Thanks again Apple). I was gifted a pair of wireless earbuds and kept them for less than a week before I exchanged them. It's why to this day, my phone STILL has a 3.5mm headphone jack. Glad to see people waking up and wired making a comeback....

Rant on [off]

Wired earbuds were always cool unless you're tall. I don't know if anything more convenient than Airpod Pros exists today. And I say Pros because of the noise cancelling/passive features. Plus the way they handle switching between iPhone, iPad, and the Macbook seamlessly.

You're either trolling, or clueless...

using your phone as the source after spewing off like an audiophile is laughable..Sure, wired will always be better at literally everything, but wireless is way more convenient if i'm not sitting down listening for nuances in mixing music as a profession

I like wired in theory, but I spent years trying to find a pair of wired earbuds that didn't transmit contact sound up the cable. Eventually gave up and bought a good-not-great pair (LINK ) on sale and I've been happy with them.

The trick for me was finding a pair that had Qi charging for the case. I have Qi chargers all over the place, so it's easy to just set the case down on the one on my desk to keep it topped off. Never run into an issue.

Not trolling at all.

Why would I decide to use a device that draws down the battery power via Bluetooth vs one that does not? Sure the battery draw in minimal, but it's not zero.

It has nothing to do with sound quality. A.D.D. me doesn't want to keep up with wireless earbuds. Heck I can't find my car keys most day, much less a PAIR of small things that can easily be lost. They would be useless to me in a under a week after I lost 1 of them...

I'm glad that you agree with me. The whole reason apple switched to wireless is because they were trying to make their phones as small as possible and the 3.5 mm jack interfered with that. Plus they could roll out a brand new trendy accessory and make a lot of $$$. It had nothing to do with the performance of the device itself.

wtf are you talking about? not all wireless is bluetooth and they're powered separately..why would i turn the radio on in my car, its going to drain the battery...

your issue is becoming clear

You're bananas..You need to do some research on when 3.5 even hit phones, and which ones used/abandoned it

First off, unless you drive an EV, your car has an internal combustion engine and an alternator to generate electrical power while its running. And, you've not been a teenager until you've run your battery down listening to the radio hanging out with friends.

Second, and more to the point, every wireless signal your phone transmits weather it's bluetooth or 2.4/5 ghz wireless uses electrical energy from your phone's battery to power it. The REAL retort you should have come back with is if the bluetooth chip (or wifi Chip) or the Digital/Analog converter that powers the wired headphones draws more phone battery power. Having looked into it previously, I can assure you it's the bluetooth chip. And we won't even go into USB-C headphones that draw 5v from the USB-C port...

I'm the same. I have tried wireless and they suck. Wired headphones/earbuds work best for my listening habbits.

Having said that, USB-C headphones suck compared to traditional analog headphones. Bring back the headphone jack!

"Wired earbuds are more popular than ever."

We have come full circle.
I have a pair of JVC wireless pods that I paid $20 for that work great...but I only use them for Teams and Zoom calls.

Ok. I'll bite. Can you tell me what is the political agenda of selling headphones? I'm honestly curious.

I did drop my headphone case on a very dark international flight once, which caused the case to pop open and for my two black wireless earbuds to launch themselves across the floor. It was a lot of fun finding them without waking anyone up

I like the wireless earbuds that are wired to each other. I can drape them around my neck and not have to worry about losing them. But I’ve never had a problem with any wireless ones holding a charge. I buy cheap ones off Amazon, never more than $30-$40. The charge lasts 8+ hours
