Just picked one up yesterday for work. I had a SP3 before and I don't know why I ever went away from it. They have made great improvements to the Surface line since I used it last.

Use an SP6 interchangeably with my MBP. Love it

Bought an SP3 four years ago. Finally died a couple weeks ago. The type cover had been becoming more unresponsive but finally the unit itself won’t boot up.

Considered another one but wanted something with more power at a lower cost. Bought an HP Spectre x360 13 inch today on HP.com. 4K screen, 512gb SSD, 16 GB ram, i7 processor plus a wireless Matching Spectre Mouse and leather sleeve for $1300. Same specs in a surface would be near 2000.

I had an sp1 and sp4 (still have the sp1) but I moved on to Lenovos x1 carbon

Highly prefer the carbon over any of the SPs

I had a surface pro 2 and jsut got a surface bood about a year ago. Love it. Don't see myself even looking at other laptops again. I do A LOT of project walkthroughs and not having to carry around blueprints but still being able to make notes and use it just like any laptop is a gamechanger for me.

Have the original surface book and love it. Premium hardware and a pleasure to use. I would definitely buy again if it ever breaks

I have an original surface book. Use it a good bit and have no issues.

Thinking of getting a surface pro 6 for my daughter starting college. Is the 12" large enough?

Amazon has it for around $700

I got the black SP6 last December and love it. It's big enough to easily read on the screen at native resolution and for most apps. The size, weight, and portability should be perfect. Keep in mind, the type cover (which you will want to include) is an extra cost as well as the pen (nice to have but not necessary). Kinda sucks as they used to come with a pen. I had a SP3 a few years back but gave it to my dad.

Costco has black one M4R-00001 for $799 and Amazon has a silver one LRP-00001 I think for $699.

I can't tell if they are the same or not but both came out in oct 2018 according to Microsoft.

What makes the Costco one more valuable? Is it that cover?

Eta here's what comes with Costco version

Sounds like the Costco one is a bundle as opposed to just the Surface Pro.

I was looking at the 2 when I bought my SP3 and opted away from the laptop; but I spent a little extra for the docking station and added dual 24" monitors for when I need to work on big projects at home.

I liked the easy transition into a tablet so I can take notes in standing meetings. Plus when I travel I can rip movies to my tablet and I don't have to put it away during takeoff/landing.

The laptop felt a lot bulkier to me and I didn't like the fact that I had to keep the keyboard in front. Plus, if I was doing anything intense for work, I would need the 2nd monitor anyway

Several people that work for the company i work for has gotten them and they love them. I am the IT guy so I get to mess with them a little before they go out. They are really nice. I wouldn't mind having one.
