Nobody is mad, I am clowning after my initial statement that you took offense to. I only questioned these refs' "official" clock. And, here's an honest question for you...Do the refs have an official time in stoppage time or do they only kinda adhere to that based on who might have possession and an attack?

Went to the gold cup semis in Dallas 15 years ago. US played in the first game. Mexico played in the second and had about 90% of the fans. When they scored, it might have been the loudest I’ve ever heard any sporting venue be.

Keeping people inside the stadium during a weather delay feels bizarre to me.

Let me answer this as a currently certified referee.
Stoppage time is a MINIMUM number of minutes I add on at the end of half/game for goals, cards and injuries (I don’t add for subs as most of my games these days are unlimited sub youth games). That can be extended due to any of the above happening during stoppage time. I will let it run a little past if there is an imminent attack in progress, BUT I will end it immediately after it fizzles/ball turned over/stuff like that.
