Strange how strong Iran and the Sauds have looked and wonder why it hasn't translated to Senegal or Qatar yet

Great result for us. We can still lose today and get through with a win against Iran.

if we win today, a tie or better vs Iran sends us through no matter what.

A loss today, and we will HAVE to beat Iran. Then comes down to our score today and the result of England/Wales

A Draw today and we will need to beat Iran and then just hope Wales doesn’t beat England by 2 more than we beat Iran (which is 99% not going to happen)

Keep in mind, Wales will be without their goalie vs that England squad….

I hope Greg let’s us just go for it today. A loss puts England at 6, Iran at 3, Wales/US at 1. We tie today and we still need to beat Iran on the last day anyway. We need to go for the win today and be at the top of group. even get to avoid Netherlands in R16 if you pull it off. Way more to gain today than lose.

If we get into the 2nd half and are tied we should play for the point.

Needing a win over Iran makes us underdogs to advance.

With this US team, playing for the point at any time means automatic loss.

Even if we win today you can’t lose to Iran.

So losing to Iran was never in the cards.

You win today lose to Iran and England beats wales you are out.

If we draw today, we would still have to beat Iran to advance….

Just don't risk our players on yellow. Except Acosta if needed.

US has nothing to lose today so they can go play for the 3 points. Regardless you need to beat Iran. That's all that matters now.

Big match is Tuesday. Win and you are through. Today is almost irrelevant. As much as you want to go for it today, you are better off setting yourself up for success on Tuesday. That means resting guys, not getting yellows, etc. If you want to beat England, do it in the knockout round.

Call me crazy, but if Wales beats England, don’t we still need to get thru on goal differential?

Yes. But people are assuming England beats Wales. Or at worst draws.
