I don't think a good national league is requisite for having a good national team. If all we do is export players abroad for several generations, that is a net good.

We should expect a much more neutral game than a lot here think for 60 minutes. Giving up a goal would be a dagger. Probably fairly conservative for a while

but it is going to take elite levels of investment to get over that hump.

I think that’s what Twellman was saying in his epic “What are we doing??” rant after losing to T&T and not qualifying. We have had the resources to do so ahead of those you’ve named, but we got ahead of ourselves without a better development/infrastructure plan. Much like a lot of small businesses, we’re still trying to fly the plane as we build it.

What we would need is basically a billionaire to fund the whole project to the tune of 10 billion for ten years or something. Germany spent around 1 billion to reorganize their structure, but without top-down investment from the USSF, it's going to be very difficult to catch up.

MLS isn't holding the US back, it just needs to be a respectable league to develop talent. Our mickey mouse federation is what holds us back.

I'm gonna lock my kids in a room with 4 concrete walls and a ball and only unlock them after they can do that move that Gourcuff did circa 2010.

I'm rocking my Kyle Beckerman Bomb Pop jersey today and took a half day so I can properly stress myself out this afternoon.

Yikes. We’d probably have to score a goal in consecutive matches to advance to the Quarters.

My bomb pop is a Donovan jersey because I ordered it before the roster announcement

So I have a Donovan jersey with the name crossed out and Diskerud written in Sharpie

Would be an interesting move to take Zimmerman off at this point.

Looking WAY ahead the winner of sengal game likely gets Argentina/France if results hold…might be better with the Dutch side lol. Nerves finally kicking in, gonna be worthless at work next 3 or so hours.
