He knows how to open up and play expansive
he has shown it even at United
but then he just goes back into what he wants to do
United fans tolerated it, when we won some trophies and finished 2nd. If we are not winning anything this will go south fast.

Agreed I’d really like to get Poch but would he even leave in the middle of the season?

I have hated him for a long time, and continue to express that he is incredibly overrated as a manager.
The day he was hired by United was a sad day for me.

8 league titles
• 3 in England
• 2 in Italy
• 2 in Portugal
• 1 in Spain
2 Champions League titles
• Porto
• Inter
2 Europa League titles
• Porto
• Manchester United
That’s not even including his domestic titles, of which there are plenty.
• 2 for Porto
• 4 for Chelsea (including Community Shield)
• 2 for Inter
• 2 for Real Madrid
• 1 for Chelsea (second stint)
• 2 for United (including Community Shield)
This notion by people that Mourinho is an awful manager is so naive. Mourinho is one of the best managers of the 21st century, and could very well go down as top 10 all time. That’s not opinion, that’s facts.
Yes, he does do some absolutely insane things and make you shake your head at times, but the man knows what he’s doing.

I come in peace.
I agree - he's a top manager. But he clearly has had some issues with his players/team the last few years. I'm starting to believe his time in Madrid changed him, and not necessarily in a good way. He's always been entertaining (and usually brilliant) at delivering messages through the media, but it seems to be blowing up in his face more.
Do players need a less stiff hand than they used to? Or he's just been unlucky with some of the personalities he's coaching?
My thoughts coming into the season were, its a possible year 3 curse (his last few teams seemed to turn on him in year 3) plus, in his desire to try to push for some purchases, he completely undermined the confidence of his defenders. And low and behold, the defenders are making a lot of mistakes.

I'm not hitting the panic button yet
bc the first half we looked good, probably some of the best we have under Jose
we just wasted a frick ton of chances. Could have been up 2-0 going into half.
The notion the game passed him by is hilarious
Last season United finished better than everyone in the league other than a historic amazing City side.
He beat City, Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal last year. He reached a final which took a Phil Jones frick up to loose.
If in two season two trophies, reaching three finals and a second place finish means the game has passed by someone then its passed by everyone but Pep.

He also dropped a massive amount of points against sides that didn’t finish in the top 6 though. We did have a historic season, but United also dropped a lot of points they shouldn’t have.

yet still finished above everyone else, two managers that are supposedly light years ahead of him.
Now do i think a guy like Poch is more suited for United and its club ethos. Yes his style and how he loves to play academy grads is in line with how the club has conducted itself.
Jose at end of the day was a reaction to City hiring Pep. He has won trophies and United have had their best league finish since SAF retired. Everything is getting blown more out of proportion b/c how Pep is doing at City.

Looks like United have offered Martial a new contract....he may actually outlast Jose at Old Trafford
Posted on 8/29/18 at 5:26 pm to thirdlawson
He will be inking a new five year deal soon
Also looks like the players are backing Jose right now. Tons have been posting on social media about everyone being united.

You are 100% correct and I agree.
However this start has been dreadful. I’m not screaming to sack him, but he is progressively treading on thinner ice. It wasn’t only the 6 points dropped, it was the fashion he dropped them. We haven’t strung together 60 minutes of impressive football yet.
Going into the season, anyone who loosely followed United knew defense was going to be trouble. However 0 goals against Brighton and Spurs with our attack gives cause for concern.
I am willing to give him more time, but it wasn’t looking good. Until the players tweeted about unity after the game, it seemed as though he may be losing the locker room.
The story of his early career was doing more with less. His peak (even currently) he is a world class manager. I just hope we aren’t seeing the beginning of the end. Even though he finished 2nd last season, 3/9 points compared to the fixtures hasn’t looked promising.
