His name is Tim, but he’s so bad that I’m fine with your mistake

Dest is at fault for both of these too.

He didn't challenge the second ball on the first goal and was ran off too easily.

Didn't stop the trossard cross on the 2nd.

Matt freese had a total mental meltdown, but Tim team not getting his leg to that shot is fricking absurd

Dumbass tried to be cute and flick it away (like he actually possesses that type of skill) instead of just getting in front of it

That's what I was saying. We got too cute at times. We were too big for our britches. Play simple.

Well, he doesn’t seem to know what to do, so it fits.

Either he got lucky the first few games or he had a terrible game. I don’t remember him being this shitty in the pool games.

I said it last night and will say it again, a good CB erases at least two of those goals. Not a great CB, not even a very good CB. Just good.

The first goal a great CB could cover. Facing you own goal is tough.

The 2nd goal was embarrassing for him. He’s bigger AND had position on the striker. He just got bodied.

The 3rd goal….woof. Huge frickup by Freese. An all timer, but the ball was hit fairly weakly and passed within a foot of Ream. Come on man, you have to get a touch on that.

The 4th goal….whatever. Awful giveaway by Richards and Ream, who’d already been bullied by Belgiums other striker, was never going to stop Lukaku.

Ream is a good distributor, but he’s well below average as a defender.

The problem was we couldn't even do that. Literally struggled to trap and pass the ball all game. I knew the D would hurt us, but lord I didnt expect the attack to just disappear.

Yeah, it’s really bad. The defense could not execute the fundamentals. That first goal Belgium scored….If a ball is within the goal box like that, you clear it. period. You can’t have 3 U.S. defenders standing around the ball and do nothing while in the box, which is what happened and the 1 Belgium player almost looked shocked at the opportunity he had there due to the lack of effort from the U.S. side and simply got in between the 3 defenders not doing shite, made an easy pass and his teammate got the easy goal.

3rd goal Belgium scored was another fundamental mistake, but this time from our goalie and he knew it after the ball got stolen from him. That was disgusting and embarrassing to watch. I don’t even need to explain it, the replay shows it clearly.

You will not see two goals scored like that the rest of the tournament. These remaining teams are too good to make fundamental mistakes like that. It’s super embarrassing we showed that lack of fundamental knowledge and effort on the World Cup stage in the round of 32. It’s clear we did not belong.

It's a matter of athletic ability that he does not possess. The first two were just not properly reading the game. The third one was a 38 year old man that was never a great athlete showcasing that he is now a well below average athlete

Ream sucked yesterday for sure, but I don't blame him for US Soccer not developing another CB for a decade. He shouldn't even be on this roster.

Everyone sucked yesterday. Yes if Ream was William Saliba maybe were saved, but I don’t think it’s fair to point the finger at him. Every single goal started with schoolboy errors and mistakes from someone not named Tim Ream.

First goal starts with a terrible headed clearance by Freeman, no one near him and he just pops it straight up into the heart of the box. Primary culprits are Dest and Mckennie for just standing there and letting the Belgian player pick up the loose ball and ghost into the box. Then the cross goes through Richards’ legs and Ream doesn’t react quick enough, but it all happened incredibly quickly due to Dest inexplicably not clearing a loose ball.

Second goal Dest and Freeman have Trossard 2 v 1 and not only let him get in the cross but let him get to the byline and cross it back towards goal, letting the attacker come forward with all the momentum while Ream is now facing his own goal and has lost leverage on the attacker. Equal culpability between Ream and Dest/Freeman.

Third goal is obviously on Freese. Yes Ream could have saved the day and he did get a touch but Freese just can’t make that mistake. Richards also beaten for pace with the ball over the top which forced Freese to come out.

Fourth goal (not that it mattered) almost entirely on Richards for a terrible giveaway in the box. Again Ream could have erased the mistake if he’s William Saliba.

The overall skill from the other teams played in the tournament were just far below Belgium. They didn't have the skill or creativity of Belgium. The forward who abused him last night was one of the best young talents 7ish years ago who kind of hasn't figured it out for whatever reason. Still far better than a 38 year old MLS player.
