He should be kicked squarely in the nuts for that atrocity. Stop trying to get a cheap penalty and clear the freaking ball out.

Ream started for Fulham for like a decade.
Was one of the best CBs (top 15) in the PL for a couple of years.
He's not some scrub.

Pulisic is such a non factor. What a waste

I really don't think he earned his spot on the team. He played like he had nothing to prove.

Lalas was right to call him out back in the day. Hate on Alexi all you want, but my guy had heart. He'd kill to have the talent that a Pulisic is supposed to have. But Pulisic is wasting it.

I’ve coached Junior high keepers who would not have made that mistake. That’s routine, keeper feet work, just inexcusable

Fulham wasn’t even in the PL half the time he was there. And when they did make it to PL they immediately got relegated, twice.

Also what has he done for the national team? Nothing. Has shite the bed and been manhandled when it matters most. You don’t make World Cup debuts at 35 if you’re a decent player.

Was he not captain this world cup?
Kind of an honor and a big deal.
Means the players and coaches see something in him that you don't.

Wonder who's opinion means more?
You or the players and coaches of the national team?

The triangle of death yesterday was Freese, Richards, and Ream according to player ratings. All 3 were 4.5 or less.

Dest should be honorary mention, can't remember the last time we straight up benched somebody at the half

This thread is elder abuse lol

Our CB depth after Richards sucks. If anyone here thinks McKenzie or Trusty or a healthy CCV manages better last night then you haven’t been paying attention to the past two four year cycles. There’s a reason why none of those guys have locked down a starting spot in spite of ample opportunities.

Our CB situation is dire and we really need to lock down Banks. The fact that a 38 year old was starting for us was a testament to Ream’s longevity just as much as our inability to develop better players at that position. Plus it’s silly to dump on Ream for this one game when he was excellent in every other WC game he played for us (8!). Last night’s performance was generationally bad from multiple players and the coach.

It was a worse case scenario on that goal. It started with the initial long ball from the Belgians. It sailed a bit too long and the Belgian striker flat out outran our defenders . But the ball landed in the worst possible spot and forced Freeze to come out beyond the box where all he could do was use his feet.....there's a reason he is a goalie. Then you have Ream in a dead run to fill in all while having his head on a swivel.

It was the perfect storm.

Are you talking about the "tattooed millionaires" rant?

That was about everyone but Pulisic, who was 17 years old and trying to carry a bunch of over-the-hill players and a lost generation to qualifying for the World Cup.

By the way, that Dortmund version of teenage Pulisic, to me, is still the best version of Pulisic.

His finishing wasn't as lethal as it is now, but he could dribble in tight spaces and had a crazy acceleration with above average top-end speed.

Now, his finishing is much better and he still is amazing at beating guys off the dribble, but he no longer has that same burst. He's still fast, mind you, but the countless lower body injuries have taken some of that way.

You see a lot more cutbacks from him when he's on the ball now and less running at and past defenders.

You’re right about the call out of the lost generation, but pretty sure Lalas specifically called out “wonderboy” as well during that, which obviously was Pulisic.

Well that was really stupid by Lalas, because prepubescent Pulisic was amazing that cycle.

He was a boy amongst men but played like a man amongst boys.

What happened to CCV? Played (trained) under Poch at Tottenham, started a group stage match at the last world cup. Fell off the face of the earth at 28 years old

Torn ACL, else he would've been in this squad.

He played in a friendly for Celtic in Ireland this morning

Was wondering myself.

Hopefully after a while we can remember Ream for being the steady rock he usually was.

In reality Richards is responsible for the 3rd and last goal. There was no way he should have let DeKataleare get past him on that long ball.....and it wasn't close he got burned. But, it seemed like the entire Belgian midfield was there behind him with the US mid fielders at least 15 -20 yards behind them. No doubt Freeze choked, but once he was out of that box without any defenders establishing themselves to help or back him up he was at a disadvantage....a severe one at that.
