Where are they getting these other 8 clubs from?
3 more clubs that haven’t been named are “founding members”
5 clubs are on a yearly qualification basis

Ajax has said "no" as well.
Then again, minds could be changed when giant bags of cash are waived in front of them.

The Dutch will hold the line.

Right.
What I'm saying is I don't see three other clubs on that level that haven't already come out in opposition to the whole idea. At the rate clubs are turning them down, they're gonna end up adding Red Star Belgrade, Grasshoppers, and Brugge.
And given that 95% of the continent seems to be in opposition to the idea, why do they assume that five other clubs are going to voluntarily join their league for a year instead of playing in whatever's left of the Champions League?

Even if this doesn’t go through, the whole things turns me off to top flight soccer in general. I’m planning on going back to England next year and I may just go to League One/Two and nonleague grounds.

Lol. Like binding contracts mean shite in soccer.

Perez is going to be as hated as Blatter by the time this is over

The Premier League has just issued a statement saying the clubs "unanimously and vigorously rejected the plans" and "is considering all actions available to prevent it from progressing, as well as holding those Shareholders involved to account under its rules."

I mean if this is how we get rid of the Glazer family...

United hasn’t sold out a match in over a year. No one has. Did city even sell out all its matches before?
I don’t want to be right. I hope I’m wrong. But I’m feeling like engvol. I don’t want it to happen. But just saying the English people won’t accept it won’t make it not happen. COVID has thrown everything in disarray.
Saying I don’t understand English football culture doesn’t even matter. The very idea of a super league craps all over the culture of football. And they are floating it and making plans for it anyway. It’s all about money. Even Bayern would ultimately cave if this went forward and they got left out for a year or two.
I get that local fans would be mad. But OT has a waiting list for season tix that’s over 100,000 people long.
Of Liverpool’s current season tix holders only 5,832 actually have a Liverpool post code. Everton has five times that many.
This isn’t 1989 when Manchester United almost got taken over for $20 million dollars.
There’s global money pushing this.
I do hope it fails. But it won’t be because people from Liverpool who cant even afford season tix anymore are mad.

I'm all for a points deduction. Let's finish this year out with a Leicester vs West Ham title race.

It’s not just people from Liverpool. It’s people from across the entire country. No one, whether in London or Bootle, is going to want to support this and go to the match or watch it on TV.

frick a points deduction, make these six play in a playoff to see which three are relegated.
Burn it all down.

Just go with a points deduction large enough that Sheffield gets un-relegated.

Why should Sheffield, Fulham, and West Brom go down given this situation? They’re committed to the structure and the league.
Just push these six to the bottom of the table and three go down. frick all of them.
