Yeah we aren't playing as bad as Ian is making it out to be. I don't know what his problem is today. We can play better but we are doing okay.

According to ESPN gamecast, we've had more possession (53-47). We just need better attacking possession.

I want Bacon on for Zusi very badly right now.

Yedlin doesn't give a frick. He takes what he wants.

Beasley's been awesome.

I'm a bit of a Zusi fan, but he needs to get it the frick together or get the frick out.

Yedlin's looked as good as I could have hoped he would.

We miss Jozy so badly. We are not good enough to play without a striker.

Eta: would be absurd to reach the quarters without Jozy, but here we are with a good chance

I hope so. Mix has that little bit of creativity around the box that could create a goal. Mix on for Zusi sometime in the 2nd unless we get a goal before Jurgen wants to make the switch (probably between 65' and 75'). Unless we go down a goal, I'd expect to see the 3rd sub saved until ET.

It would have to be perfect to beat Courtois. He'll be the best goalkeeper in the world in three years or less.

He's arguably top 2 right now, so I'd definitely take the less on that one

played well today but some idiots are still holding the past 3 games against him. IF they are going to do that then he will never satisfy them because they refuse to look at the now. Just will keep pointing back and saying "HE DIDNT PLAY WELL THEN! WHO CARES ABOUT NOW!?"

Yeah dude, Ian makes it seem like we're getting blown away 3-0. We weren't great but hit, it wasn't that bad. Just need to shoot.

Makes you wonder how Tyrann would do as a soccer player.

Yes, that was sarcasm.

Had to stream Univision on my phone so I couldn't post in this thread but here are my thought:

1. This match is WIDE OPEN. It's been end to end and exciting as hell.

2. Bradley still giving the ball away cheaply. I also got pissed a couple of times when he seemed to be a bit lethargic, but I'm going to give him a break there because he seems to be working hard outside those couple minutes.

3. Zusi has been awful. He can't keep possession and when he does get space his touch has failed him.

4. Beasley is playing like a man possessed.

5. Yedlin is going to be a world class player in a couple of years. The kid is something special.

6. If Jozy is healthy we need him to come on around the 60th if the game is tied or we are down. Having Clint eating up the space underneath him would lead to a lot of chances.

7. The rest of the guys are working their asses off, but if we keep giving the ball away so cheaply we are going to be playing catchup. All of their counters have come from bad giveaways.

If not Mix, then I could very well see that being the change. Would probably slide Clint out right to let him do his thing 1 on 1 with Vertonghen since Hazard won't drop back.

just take bradley out and we win.

how often do you see him involved...what is his position?

he had one good pass that created, one good "intent" pass that got intercepted....the rest of the time, he has either a poor touch or a non-eventful touch(pass right back to the guy who passed to him(not in a give and go way)

he is always on the move, sure, but he doesn't challenge, he just trots at a slower than jogging speed. He doesn't put himself into space, he doesn't anticipate passing lanes, he just acts like there's a slow gravitational force to the ball gradually pulling him to it.

In our defensive side, he stays way on the outside of action, with the idea of "if the ball gets knocked away, I will be closest to it"

on the offensive side...he doesn't force the action himself, or look for internal give and go's, he instead plays "give and you do something with it" style.

he had one decent shot two games ago.....he had one great pass this game......I can't remember another thing that I found worthwhile out of him.

Just get Belgium to go three and out on their first possession then open it up with some play action and work the TE into the plays.
