I guess they could over Fox more than $400 million. Better chance of no World Cup in Qatar.

Does Fox have the women's world cup too?
If so, it will degenerate into Gus Johnson screaming "Alex Morgan" over and over again.

His inability to pronounce any foreign-sounding last name properly is astounding.
That's actually my least favorite part of his presentation style.

Someone should make a compilation vid of Gus fricking up player names.

How he butchers Andres Iniesta pisses me off so much. IN-ESSSTA
Also I hate Wynalda more than I hate just about everyone except Michael Race Baiting Wilbon.
In the FA Cup final he kept saying shite like "That's why zonal marking doesn't work Mr. Wenger" when that's pretty much all we do on set pieces and we've gotten damn good at it. WTF is that dickbag always saying something so retarded?
"These England fans are going to love having Aaron Ramsey fit for this upcoming World Cup. He'll be key." Once again Wynalda being a dumbass.

Like Fox bringing in Michael Strahan for the Champions League to compare soccer and football?
Goddammit.

So we go from Sir Ian and Macca to Gus Johnson and the world's second biggest douchebag?! (Will Clark is still alive) Fox's MIB's will be Karl Rove and Juan Williams....... I've got four years to learn Spanish.

Gus just doesn't understand how to call a game. And how should he? He never did it until recently and didn't even follow the sport until he was required to. Just a dumb decision by Fox instead of going out and paying someone who knows what they're doing.

I get the Gus hate, but remember that Fox did a pretty good job with the Premier League when they had it.
So I'm holding out hope that they revert to that form and learned some lessons from NBC Sports and ESPN.

They didn't produce their Premier League content. They just borrowed Lord Murdoch's Sky Sports coverage

All they did was use the Sky & BBC streams. They had no actual hand in the development of those broadcasts.

I will always have a soft spot for Fox. When I found out about Fox Soccer Channel that was the only way I could watch games regularly. There were times when it looked like ESPN were actively trying to crush soccer in the past. It wasn't (or at least IMHO) until the 2006 World Cup that ESPN started to see that soccer had a future in America and started pushing it.
The sad thing is that ESPN has surpassed Fox, but I feel like FOX needs to be recognized for giving a shite when ESPN didn't want to admit soccer was anything but a fringe sport.

I get what you're saying, but I don't care who figured it out first. I like ESPN because they're better at it. The Champions League and Europa League coverage on Fox is ok, but it could be better. At least they have 4 years to figure it out before Russia. I'd love to see the CL on ESPN.

And why wouldn't they do the same here, other than the occasional clusterfrick that will be the Gus games?

Fox sports world was the shite
Aussie rules football at 3am FTW
Perhaps a redeeming quality will be bobbeh mcmahon.

I do miss seeing Sky Sports News. It was fantastic. Pretty much what ESPN News should be instead of some 24/7 Lebron James network.
