It would be so shitty if Fox tries to teach the audience the game in 2018. I hear that ESPN did that in 02 and 06 and everyone who understands the game pretty much watched Univision.
ESPN started getting their crap together with Euro 2008.
I fear that Fox will try to teach the game and once again fans will feel isolated.
Goodness frick. Gus Johnson and Wynalda are going to be the frickin worst. Holy crap. Their Champions League and FA Cup presentation sucks dick too.
Hopefully getting the Bundesliga rights let's them get plenty of practice moving forward.

That is old. Since that was written, Fox has added Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2. All games will be on Fox, FS2 and FS2.

Does Fox honestly not listen to the common voice on this shite? Everyone hates Gus and Wynalda. They are intolerable. They will lose ad revenue because of it because people will change the channel.

People are really complaining about Gus Johnson? Really? You want soccer to at least 'seem' exciting to the average American fans? If so, place Gus Johnson on the play by play and let someon score a goal.
Soccer will seemingly become much more exciting to the U.S. now that it's on FOX. Just my opinion.

I think Galavision also has the 2018 rights here in the States.
Maybe technology will be advanced enough by then that I can get a super-fast, non-buffering HD stream of the BBC's coverage on my TV.

He's decent at goal calls, but we're talking about five or so minutes of a 90+ minute match. A lot of soccer fans can't stand him for the rest of the time.
I think he'd be better without a complete tool like Wynalda sitting next to him, but not enough to make me think, "Yeah, he's good" when we're used to guys like Sir Ian Darke.

Maybe by that time someone can teach Gus there is no "crossover" move in soccer like in basketball.

Espn had the platforms and made the decision to push soccer and make it a forefront of regular sports coverage. Fox won't be able to that and I am not sure they will either. Foxs1 doesn't have the viewership and their other platforms pale in comparison to Espn. Hopefully fox will make the decision to keep soccer in forefront of their coverage.
