I hope thats the direction they're going in. It's been my theory that there will be 7 survivors, or somehow the Faith of the 7 gods will be the most prominent characters towards the end of the show, and will be the ones that are the most responsible for defeating the Others.
The Father- Tyrion?
The Mother- Cerci/Dany?
The Warrior- The Hound/ Jamie/Jon Snow?
The Smith- Gendry. I can't think of who els this could be.
The Maid- Sansa?
The Crone- Old Nan?
The Stranger- Arya
I've been playing with this idea since Religion (and prophecies) are such a big deal, and the 7 is really the only religion that doesn't have anything supernatural about it.

Besides wanting to kill the Children of the Forest, I dont really get NK's motivation. Being human again might be it.

I really hate that they went that direction in the show, and hope thats not how it happens in the books. It just doesn't make sense about how the Others are known in Essos. The prophecy came from Asshai, and there's even those mysterious black stone sentinels guarding the north.

It would just play out so much better that the Others are as old as the Children of the Forest, and represent pure evil.
Lyanna Stark has the same characteristics as Arya. There is no way Arya would marry a person similar to Robert.
As much as I love the idea of the House of Dayne, and Dawn being a magical sword that makes the fighter better, it's too late to bring in Ned Dayne.

The most realistic for the show would be Rhaegar being obsessed with the Azor Ahai prophecy, and basically believing that John would be the chosen one.

ETA: The Tournament at Harrenhal would be awesome. That way we could get closure that Lyanna is the Knight of the Laughing Tree.

Bacon- Injured for rest of the season
Agudelo- I like him, but still don't think he's as talented as a healthy Boyd
Rubin- I haven't seen him enough to really have an opinion, but I would take a healthy Boyd, Altidore, and Agudelo over him.

I forgot Cameron was healthy again. You're right he defiantly has a spot on the field. I would slot him in at CB, because Brooks and Cameron will be our WC CB pairing. The only reason why he wasn't on there is because I wasn't sure when his time table was for getting back.

But you're confident in a guy who has missed the last 2 years due to multiple ACL surgeries?

The game is still in a month, so time will tell if he gets re injured, but yes I trust Boyd to be more productive on the field than Altidore.

Why the frick are you starting Terrence Boyd?

Because I'm not confident in Altidore anymore. I guess I could put Green, and probably would have been the better choice, but was thinking about his back heel to Orozco. I think if we could have two big strikers might benefit us.
Obviously his injuries would worry me, but like I said earlier I'm not confident Altidore is one of our best strikers anymore.
----------Woods----Boyd
Pulisic--------------------Johnson
---------Bradley---Kljestan
Ream-----------------------Yedlin
---------Brooks-----Besler
-------------- Guzan

ETA: If Jones is healthy he starts over Kljestan

I think the issue with Bob is we still wouldn't have any talent. Jurgy has under whelmed at times on the pitch but our talent seems to be improving

I understand that argument, but I wonder how much has been the natural growth of the game vs Klinsmann doing. Green is the direct example of a positive, but players like Kitchens and Pulisic, I wonder if they would have ended up in the same position.

Bob sucked arse as a manager.

On the field results he has done the same, if not better than Jurgen, but with less talent.
Off the field he got slammed unfairly, because he played his son, and he wasn't the big name foreigner that many US fans wanted.

As much as I'm not a Klinsman fan, but I think we will really see his true impact in 10 years.
Wondo and Eddie Johnson strike force.

We would be unstoppable.
Or Boca?

Although, I agree Hangeland should be one, but Bocanegra had some very solid seasons for them. Not to mention the season that he was second leading goal scorer.

ETA: I forgot Hangeland was born in the US.

You realize those two things are tied together, right? Your personal freedoms and those symbols?

Without those symbols (i.e. what the symbols represent), your personal freedoms in all likelihood don't exist.

You're the second person to imply that a piece of cloth is the same as the rights of citizens. It's just a stupid ridiculous argument.

"If she really wants to make a statement she should quit the team and say she can no longer represent such a terrible country on the world stage. "

I don't understand why people think what she did was unpatriotic. If anything it's more patriotic to speak up and want whats best for a country, then to burry your head in the sand and pretend whats happening to citizens is just fine.

I think this is pretty close on the embarrassing front but then again its women's soccer

I don't find what Rapinoe did embarrassing, and it doesn't sound like her team, or US Soccer find it embarrassing. It's embarrassing that we still need to be addressing the issue of black americans being targeted by police. Slavery has ended a long time ago, and we as a society, have not properly integrated them to the level of whites.
quote:

Hope solo was punished for words, it seems stupid to not punish this lesbian for her actions

Let's be fair here. Hope Solo's crap was willing to be overlooked, as long as she was in her prime, and any news was good news for the USWNT.
The writing was on the wall for Solo after we got bounced from the olympics, and not only did she come out and sound like an idiot to an ex coach, but she's not in the plans for the next WC.
quote:

Fine if they want to do it, but in my view it's accomplishing absolutely nothing.

It's good for making the news, but yea the problem now is how do you translate it into actual change. I don't know the answer to that, but I'm hoping someone does.
quote:

Dude, disagree with whatever people, groups, organizations, and factions of Americans you want. You disagree with the police and their tactics? Cool. That's your prerogative. Our country and it's laws/freedom grant you that ability. You want to effect change on the homefront, go for it. Volunteer. Donate. Get out and be proactive. But you start to shite on our country and its symbols, forget it. It will only cause a divide.

I actually think its a very effective way of bringing their cause to the for front of the news/media. I see nothing wrong with it. I know I'm in the minority here that believe in personal freedoms over symbolic protection. I think it shows more patriotism to support Americans over a flag and song.

I wouldn't kneel during the anthem, but would fully support any team mate that feels the need to do so.
quote:

while true no one is advocating for her to be arrested.

I guess where I was going with that is that I don't see why she should be punished for not doing anything illegal. It's not in the US Soccer Federations rules (that I know of), and not against the law.
There are players that sway back and fourth, and move around all the time. If this wasn't part of a movement then no one would really be talking about it.

This comes down to if you believe in the movement to change policing tactics. I don't see how representing her country on the pitch, and making a small gesture towards what she believes is in the best interest of her fellow countrymen can't be done at the same time.
She did nothing illegal, and is joining in a movement that may be controversial, but not illegal or hurting anyone.
As long as she is the best we have, or good enough to make the bench, then she deserves to play.
Does anyone think he really cares anymore? 90% of his coaching philosophy now is just trolling fans, and knowing that a large percent of fans will defend him no matter what, because of his German accent.
