I loved Bale. But eventually, it became more than that. The bad times with Spurs make the good times so much better. I will admit that the team was missing an identity for a while post-Bale. At times, I even thought I had made the wrong choice. Both Liverpool and Everton went through some runs that made me jealous. But right now, I think my club has as much heart as any club on the planet. We have a fun team.

Special shoutout to okietiger for choosing Chelsea because he wanted to follow a winner.

So now you're bragging about being worse than Liverpool?

No just showing how idiotic his post was.

any Liverpool fan saying that is the pot calling the kettle black.

How did you choose your favorite BPL team?

In the early 90s, we had a family from England move into our neighborhood. They had a boy my age and we became friends. When I would stay at their house, their dad would wake us all up to watch the Chelsea matches. Chelsea back then was not the club we are today. He said his dad used to say there are only 3 things certain in this world, death, taxes, and Chelsea finishing at the bottom of the table. I have a lot of great memories from those mornings, and am still a massive fan and club member.

I don't have a favorite BPL team. I need to choose one as this would likely make the league more enjoyable for me, but right now I'd rather watch Russia, Italy, Spain, France, and German leagues before England.

That's pretty cool

I picked Wolves cause they stayed up on the last day of the season in 2011 iirc. I no longer have a favorite Premier League side.

I like watching certain teams. I enjoy Swansea, Leiciester, Southampton, and West Ham the most this year.

I feel like there is going to be a Spurs-EFC rivalry in the US that doesn't really exist in England

How come?

I just feel like a lot of serious supporters in the US (or people who are serious about learning the game and getting into it) will pick one of the two.

By that I mean people will see either club as a strong option for those who don't want to jump on board with a perennial favorite. Both have good supporters clubs in the US, have US players in one form or another and are accessible enough for the US fan.

Our local EFC club has some disdain for Tottenham, as do I (in a sporting way), that just isn't replicated in the UK that I can tell (Most EFC fans in England, as far as I know, generally like Spurs, probably for the same reasons Americans may choose between them).

Thought Liverpool was a silly name when I was kid, then I just happened to see them play and fell in love with Stevie
