Come on homey

I understand your skepticism but this is not a normal January camp.

If we're looking at a depth chart for right now or even this March, Richards isn't close to the 2 deep at CB.

Yeah, but I'm taking a chance on him. It has to mean something that Bayern scooped him up as fast as they did.

I’d rather have CCV there. He is actually playing first team soccer.

Tim Parker should be in the 2 deep as well. I know it was said he didn't fit Berhalters mold but he's definitely better than most.

I like our width and build up on the flanks. Two issues I see thus far:

How well are our CBs protected? We’ve got great width but there is sometimes a giant hole where our 4 should be and between him and our ten. M Bradley actually fits quite well here.

Movement and interplay in final third. We don’t play quick enough nor make darting runs in behind their CBs to create space for a third runner. Need better movement and interplay here.

I’m going to be real interested to see if Lima earned himself a first team call-up in March. He played his arse off in both matches and showed grit and effort on top of skill.

I would have to see him play against a top-flight international team or two to give him the nod, but I saw more inspiration out of him yesterday than I ever have from Yedlin.

Huh?

Yedlin has had some great games for us.

The Yedlin hate is weird. He isn’t a world class RB and has some flaws, but he is IMO the best we have. He is still a starter on an EPL team, I don’t think we are at the point where we can disregard those guys.

I could totally be wrong. I hope I am. It could simply be that Newcastle and the USMNT both haven’t had clear tactics for a long time and that has affected him.

I just know that the competitive drive that Lima showed in both matches, especially the Costa Rica match, is exactly what our national team needs.

Yedlin is way ahead of Lima at this point. How does Newcastle not have tactics? Their manager is great.

Lima isn’t as good as you are making him out to be. It was two games.

Might be a dumb question but does Jordan “Fats” Morris have any chance to get any national team run when he gets healthy/fit?

Maybe but he’s got to get healthy and fit, and he was always lacking technically. He’s fast and strong though

I think it's more that if Berhalter is asking his RB to tuck in and play next to the 6 when in possession then I don't think we want Yedlin playing that role

I think we should give him a chance to prove that he can’t play that role
