and when i say FIFA, i mean the organization as well as those who have power within it, including the refs in each game

that stoppage time fiasco is just a taste...esp after our draw

when we get better, it will get worse

i've been saying this for years. this was not a fluke

if you have any questions:

-yes, i mad
-yes, my jimmies are rustled

Anyone know of any examples of time behind added for a slow sub?

I've seen some insanely super slow subs at the end of World Cup matches with no time being added.

why was there 5 min in second half and only 2 min in first half when there was a WATER BREAK that lasted more than 2 min?

Fifa gave Ronaldo a touch of magic on the cross as well. That was just superb luck on Portugal's side.

Keep real time and we don't have these issues, IMO.

because the USA was up

it was agreed in my group at the bar it would be 3 minutes, and i said 4-5 min b/c of FIFA

sometimes i wish my trolling wasn't so prophetic

it's basic strategy late in games. i'm not a super expert, but i watch a lot of soccer and i've never seen that shite

We were up at the end of 3 halves - 5 minutes each
Down at the end of one - 2 minutes

I imagine Sepp has a special phone and calls in the extra time for every game. He especially loves calling in insane amounts of extra time against the greatest country in the world.

Yep ... it was FIFA.

Do not interrupt the brilliance of the OP....who cannot accept that shitty countries in which children kick around rocks with bare feet ... will likely always be better than us at soccer ... because we care about big boy sports and leave soccer to the rest of the world. At least ... we used to.

Maybe all the orange slices and capri suns and participation trophies are starting to take root.

In the last match vs Ghana we had five minutes in the first half with two major injuries (jozy and Dempsey). Second half was I think 5 mins again vs Ghana without a single injury. Same issue tonight. Should have been 3 maybe 4 mins. Portugal got 5, Bradley choked, Cameron sucked, and we got pantsed in a tie.

this has nothing to do with technical ability or play on the pitch. it's about a completely outlier move by a ref with basically no accepted explanation or precedent

and portugal and germany aren't exactly countries where kids "kick rocks around"

5 minutes in a 2nd half where there were 2 goals and an injury or two isn't too unusual. I was expecting 5
