I couldn't be more worried about a close loss to Germany and Ghana plastering a defeated Portugal team after what happened. The FIFA cards are starting to stack.

I just don't understand how hard it would be to have the clock stop and start on the ref's whistle? And then halftime is at 45:00 and the end of the game is at 90:00.

They never even have the opportunity if we get ANY amount of stoppage time less than 5 minutes

theoretically possible

the issue is sometimes you'd have like 10 minutes of stoppage and traditionalists (aka, europe) would FLIP ou

I think our officiating has been very fair in the first two games. I think 4 or 5 minutes is reasonable for added time.

And while we got a terrible, terrible group, we also had England, Algeria, and Slovenia in 2010.

Why do you even venture over to this board?

Not really.

I just wanted to try this "trolling" just once ... just to see what happens.

But ... I do not buy into this conspiracy crap. Would FIFA just keep adding minutes ?

They made a ruling no one here's ever seen today.

Whatever they are supposed to be counting that adds stoppage time right now.

USA wins the match with 4 minutes of stoppage time. Yet we've played 3 out of 4 halves in this tournament with 5+ minutes of extra time with really nothing to warrant it

I am almost positive the same thing happened in a game earlier this week or last, where an additional minute was put in almost immediately.

Dude, we've been over this. The clock DOES stop and start on the refs whistle, considering the ref is holding the only fricking clock that matters.

We deserved better but sill in control. Nothing egregious outside of defending about it.

Because I greatly enjoy good rants and meltdowns.

It's not like we're done. We will advance.

Even the wise genius with the manly name of Alexi Lalas proclaimed: "That's just soccer."

To be nice, he did not add: "Deal with it."

Why not just give credit to Ronaldo. He did what great players do ... make a play after every one else thinks it's over.

See: Larry Bird / Celtics vs. Pistons ... Game 5, I think ... 1985 or so.

Lol you don't have to look that far back. Argentina got hosed in Germany in 2006. Who were they playing? Germany.

I thought there would be 4 or 5. FIFA didn't cause us to have a horrible screw up to start the game and didn't give Portugal a great goal at the end. All on us.
