We get knocked out by a keeper error. And it went to penalties where Turner has an absurd record.

I left work at the full 90 and made it back home at 2-2 penalties. Ramsdale had that save. Those tend to get saved a bunch at that height.

Palace have been dog shite.

I don’t want them to be relegated but hopefully they just beat a Leeds or someone like that to stay up.

But we can’t take them lightly. With our luck they will get like 1 shot one goal when they’ve been struggling to get any shots off.

That was the most torn I’ve ever been watching a penalty shootout. Definitely wanted to win, but at the same time it’s much better for our title chances now that we are not having the Thursday-Sunday games
that’s how I feel. As much as a European trophy would be great, we can now fully focus on the PL. City have a really good chance of winning the CL and that’s the one they’d pick 100/100 times over another league title. They’ll have Europe as their priority. As much as a loss today sucks it really is far from the worst thing in the world

All these years in Europa exile and couldn’t win it. Oh well, back to CL football next season.

at this point in the season with where we stand and nothing extra to play for, there are no more excuses not to lift the trophy

interested to see on how this team comes out sunday

Jesus Christ. Why do we always have to face these fricking teams after they sack the manager?

Is this the 3rd or 4th time this season?

Honestly, my son was trying to get me to watch the Shootout with me, forgetting I was in hospital already then I was bummed when I heard we lost in PKs as I thought it was to Crystal Palace, I was quite pleased to see it was Europa game. I think it’s a blessing in disguise, makes it easier to win the one that matters to us rn, the premier league cup.

Like Martha Stewart used to say “It’s a good thing”

Hopefully back after the break. Still expect a result at home against rudderless Palace. Not ideal, but our midfield and attack should dictate the game. Might not be pretty, but expecting a bounce back win.

First of six matches against teams in the relegation battle. While that could inspire more effort, you have to win all of those to have any shot. Realistically, I think this is what’s required the rest of the way:

3/19 Palace-W (69)
4/1 Leeds-W (72)
4/9 @ Liverpool-D (73)
4/16 @ West Ham-W (76)
4/21 Southampton-W (79) St. Totteringham’s Day!
4/26 @ City-L (79)
4/29 Chelsea-D (80)
5/6 @ Newcastle-D (81)
5/13 Brighton-W (84)
5/20 @ Forest-W (87)
5/28 Wolves-W (90)

Even that might not be enough. But with City chasing a treble, it seems reasonable to expect them to drop points at least twice.

Holding starts in place of Saliba and Trossard starts up front.

Really hope Holding doesn't cost us points. Dude has cost us crucial points for years

Shocked Martinelli is starting after 120 Thursday. Maybe Arteta wants him to get over the PK miss.

Zaha is so lazy. His lack of coming to the ball led to that goal.

Once again, Zaha not tracking Saka’s run like a lazy arse
