Kai is still 24 but he’s basically played as a 9 for Chelsea.
I don’t watch enough of them and him to know if he could be back up to odegaard or play the left 8. Surely he’s not a winger in the mold of saka or Martinelli so I’d have to assume he would play centrally for Arsenal. Just not sure where.

I’d take Havertz for under 40 million but no more than that. The 75 million valuation is a joke
I'd say 35 max for me

@SamiMokbel81_DM ?? Arsenal’s move for Kai Havertz: ??Chelsea want £70m, Arsenal willing to pay £60m all in ?? Personal terms won’t be an issue - over £200k a week ???Talks underway ??Havertz fully open to moving
Are the Kroenkes going all in? That’s kind of ridiculous money we might be throwing around assuming we still also get a defender or two.

I have no idea why we would spend that unless we really don’t trust Eddie and ESR. Frankly if we are spending that big I would rather we do another midfielder or RB/LB.

I think he's better suited for that left 8 role. Not sure why Chelsea wanted him at striker when he seems more of a winger/playmaker behind the 9 guy.
I'd rather not go after him for that price. Hoping the ESR fills that left 8 role and shines.

I would fricks with selling Eddie and signing Havertz as his replacement personally

Hopefully that’s just agent shenanigans and west ham trying to drive the price. I don’t think I’d watch anymore if those frickers signed rice over us. I’d rather him go to Bayern.

Havertz was brought in by Tuchel to be a Thomas Müller type versatile player but the roster issues forced CFC to play Kai at striker.
Which obviously didn’t work

Next few days will get interesting.

Yep. Looks like Saliba’s contract is done and he will sign when back from holiday. Second Rice bid forthcoming, hopefully we can wrap that up before others start swarming.

More rumors today that Partey could be on the move to Saudi Arabia. I guess I don’t mind it that much as long as Jorginho stays but I am slightly concerned over the fact that we won’t have anyone apart from J20 and injured Elneny that’s above the age of 30.

Ornstein reporting a 30 million pound offer for Jurrien Timber from Ajax. IN for this move if they get it over the line.

Arsenal + Thomas Partey camp both working on potential exit solutions if suitable opportunity arises for a sale. Interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia & #AFC considering options. Would require replacement, in addition to Declan Rice pursuit @TheAthleticFC

Arsenal have reached an agreement in principle with Chelsea to sign forward Kai Havertz. Deal for 24yo Germany international is worth around £65m. Personal terms are already in place, attacker’s medical will follow in due course @TheAthleticFC #AFC #CFC

Arsenal will pay Chelsea £50m in three instalments for Kai Havertz, plus £15m in add-ons, in a total package worth £65m.

frick it, in Arteta we trust.
News of Timber coming to Arsenal is fricking awesome too.
If we get Kai, rice, timber and one other cm this window will be awesome.

I've talked myself into it
Look, we are buying a player who scored the winning goal in a Champions League Final, is only 24 and can play in all 4 positions up front. It continues our ability to rotate up top playing "Arteta Total Football" which is positional discipline and interchangeability between the front 4 positions. I don't mind it at all.
If we can sell a couple of players and still manage to bring in a couple of players then perfect. His wage will be less of an issue if Partey goes as well in order to keep the wage bill low.
I really see us spending $225m plus this window and it is less of an issue because not everything is up front money.
