Bukayo Saka has signed new contract to keep him at Arsenal until 2027. Deal for 21yo England int’l 4 years; no option to extend. Worth ~£15m per season. Strong interest from other clubs but only ever wanted to stay + win honours with#AFC @TheAthleticFC

Love that.
Ramsdale, Saka, Martinelli, and Gabriel locked down to long term contracts this year. Unreal stuff.
Odeegard and Saliba would make it a perfect summer.

Man, Arsenal's late season breakdown has gotten me depressed. This has happened so many times since I've followed Arsenal that now I expect it. This season was the worst in that respect, because we had to be perfect. Our point total would have won the league in several other years.
I hope that Pep leaves City.

If you weren't around for the 90's Arsenal run then it makes sense. We've been in a slump for a while for the most part and even though we slipped up this year down the stretch, it was a massive turn around. Need to trim a few more players and add key players in key positions. CL football will help attract that.

Xhaka with the farewell goals.
I'm a big fan of the new home kit.

I honestly hate to see Xhaka go. I get it but he has grown into such a mature presence. Kind of a Frank Lampard figure. If he leaves and we do not get the summer targets we are in for some trouble.

While it was meaningless in the table, Arsenal—and Arteta—needed this decisive win in the worst way.

Wish we played like this at any point in the last two months.

man we really could have won this league.
I think the combination of injuries and Arteta not having the solutions caught up with us.
I mean take the 3 draws or the losses to brighton and forrest. We never had to beat city to win the league.
And the new kits do look clean as frick. I thought the pics of them were ugly. But they look great.

Overall, a fantastic season. Matched the same amount of wins as the Invincibles. Disappointing to lead for majority of the season and not win the title, but 26-6-6 is nothing to frown upon. It was a joy to watch.

The last 5 years have been somewhat tough and it seems Arteta has finally gotten this team back to a competitive level where I think we overperformed. Add a few pieces this summer and we might have the depth to prevent a collapse late in the season.

Per David Ornstein:

Arsenal have no intention of letting Emile Smith Rowe depart this summer. 22yo contracted until 2026 + important part of #AFC plans. After injury-hit campaign, hope is he shines at #U21EURO & in pre-season before big 23/24. W/

Saliba signs a 4 year contract with Gunners!!! Future is bright locking in our young talent.

That’s great news he was obviously a hell of a lot more important that we thought.
When are we signing Declan ?

Let’s get some of this transfer news brewing.
Nothing really on Rice other than we will bid a breaking amount.
And then talks about our interest in castagne and now havertz since Madrid isn’t going to pony up.
Idk about castagne, when he first came to leceister I was like what is Arsenal doing, why can’t we find a guy like that? But he seems more of the traditional rb or right wing back. Also can play on the left.
And I wouldn’t mind havertz but not for the price because we would be helping them fund a caicedo move especially if they also sell mount to United.

Only other things I've seen are Fresneda and being amongst a bunch of teams potentially activating Arda Guler's release clause. Don't know much about him.
Going to be interesting to see who we unload to where. Balogun should get a good fee along with a Xhaka. Interest for Partey from Italy I'm seeing, but what about Cedric, Pepe, Sambi, potentially Holding? Do we try to sell Tierney and go for another full back and center back?
Should be interesting
Also saw Nwaneri (youngest PL appearance ever this year) is most likely choosing City. Not the most familiar about the acdemy process, but sounded like this kid was the real deal.

Arsenal have made proposal to sign Kai Havertz. Pursuit ramped up in recent days; contact with Chelsea & 24yo. #FCBayern also keen. 2yrs left so #CFC ideally renew/sell #AFC planning formal offer to West Ham for Declan Rice soon @TheAthleticFC #WHUFC

Agree unless he is very cheap.
Posted on 6/14/23 at 12:07 pm to WhoDatNC
Don’t see us buying Kai anytime soon. This allows Chelsea to generate the funds needed to try for Caicedo.
I’d take Havertz for under 40 million but no more than that. The 75 million valuation is a joke.
