Anyone care about Major League Soccer?

If so, who's your favorite team and who do you think will win it all this year?
For me, the answer is the same for both: Sporting KC.

Do not follow, but shouldn't Messi be enough to win it for Miami?

Keep this communist filth quarantined to its pointless board

Nah. Don’t like how they try to copy European naming convention similar to Sporting KC, Real Salt Lake, or LAFC. Can’t respect it. America First!

Why did they chose lame copied names from Europe like "Real", "Sporting", "City" and "United"?

Not really, but I’m going to the Revolution match next month against Inter Miami for the sole purpose of seeing Messi in person.

Because American soccer fans are basically the sports equivalent of nerdy anime fans.

Would follow it a lot more closely if they didn’t switch over to requiring a subscription beyond Apple TV to watch their games.
Minnesota United matches are fun to watch in person.

Lifelong dynamo fan. Aka I check the standings once a month

We don't even care about it over on the soccer board.
The only redeeming quality the league has is their youth academies are starting to churn out some real talent that the big clubs in Europe are signing.
Philadelphia just had a 14 year old sign with Manchester City, and scouts are saying he's the best youth player in the world.

But but it’s going to surpass the NBA and NFL one day…

Nope. I’d much rather wake up at 6am on the weekends to watch quality football, than watch an MLS match in my own comfort.

It was part of the Messi deal, but agreed.
I would catch a match or two a week when on espn+, but not paying apple for subpar soccer.

I likely watch more soccer than 99% of people on this board. Almost none of it is MLS. The league sucks and will until we incorporate a promotion/relegation model in this country. Smaller cities will invest in their team if they have a chance to reach the top league. That would get the citizens to care and kids going to the games to want to play. Having said that, I expect Messi, Suarez, Busquets, Alba, and co to win this year.

I went to a Sporting KC game/match, whatever the MLS Larpers, want to consider it a couple years ago when they won the Cup.
It’s so fricking cringe it’s like going to Comic-Con or a Trekkie convention and I totally respect the game, the world wide appeal, and the World Cup, but that dogshit is actually make believe.
Adult males and females acting as if they’re European fans, mimicking chants, cheers, and mannerisms. They’re wearing Euro jerseys and scarves and fake as frick Euro accents. It’s Bad, real bad.

That graphic is a little disingenuous to claim that Red Bull New York took that name for no good reason. Or that they even copied that name at all.
They're owned by Red Bull. I'd say that's a pretty decent reason they're called that.

I do, went to my first game last week (it was fricking awesome) in Miami but it was CONCACAF Champions Cup.
Inter Miami CF will win it all this year
