No, they just see the money that Boomers have and resent it.

Well I am 74 my position for years has been to remove all of the income limits. Let everyone pay in the full 7.65%. Allow for drug price negotiation. When it becomes time to collect, implement a resource test. If you have liquid financial resources over $2 million then you are ineligible for SS but eligible for Medicaire.

As for Congress, eliminate that cushy retirement plan and shift them all over to Social Security.

Also any "borrowing" from the SS fund menas the $$$ are replaiced with US bonds at double the bond interst rate.

Taking off the income limit for Social Security and Medicare taxes has been rumored for a long time but so far they've held off.

When you consider the percentage of income paid by the average middle class household in Social Security and Medicare taxes it's a pretty big chunk of their income....so it's definitely the middle class that's paying the bulk of social security and Medicare taxes.

The other option I've heard talked about is to means test Social Security and Medicare based on total net worth, not sure what that would look like but I could definitely see the government doing something like means testing.

They been saying it would run out of money for 40 years. You want to see a Revolution, do away with it without giving people their money back while paying for wars, illegals and welfare.

jjdoc is the one that brought us that. He provided links and he was right. He actually thought it was a feather in the MAGA hat because, like so many on the Trump bandwagon, he was okay with big government and views the national debt like normal do aliens.

Dude, you google as well as anybody. I didn't think it was necessary to lead you to it, but here you go -

But President Trump made clear in an Aug. 12 news conference that his real goal is to replace the Social Security payroll tax with revenues drawn from the general tax fund, the vast majority of which is income taxes.

Weird that Trump supporters are unaware of his plan to fund social security benefits from the general fund

Well in all fairness, the government tried to reform ssn via Covid. They weren’t quite as efficient as desired in killing off the seniors, but they did try.

Don't worry they are killing of many more via side effects of the jab.... Myocarditis, strokes, turbo cancer are going to really bring down the population. Plus no more babies from the vaxxed.

When I speak of "means testing" the one I've heard mentioned before is "means testing" at retirement age.....total net worth would factor into Social Security and Medicare monthly checks.

I could see the government making some type of net worth brackets where the highest bracket is $0.00 benefits.

This^^^ is why I keep saying just cut my household a check for $2 million for the Social Security and Medicare taxes I've paid over +45 years and I'll call it done.

Yes they will.

Which means anyone in their 20’s and 30’s will never probably see a cent of that money…

You have no clue how Social security works and have bought in to the fear mongering from both parties.

retirement is a pipe dream to them in that age bracket

I had a coworker who believed that retirement was a fluke in social engineering. It never existed before in the history of man and it will go away once again, forcing people to work practically up until death.

He may be right if SSI collapses.

Yeah whatever. In fifteen years or so I'll be gone and somebody will get my money. In the meantime I'll just keep getting this checks.

The math is simple. Stop spending so much on SS money or stop spending money that is supposed to be allocated for SS.

Well, if the younger generations don’t want Social Security benefits when they want to retire, then they had better start saving some retirement money on their own. Many young people don’t care a flip about saving money for the future. They will be in for a rude awakening.

Gotta love how SS and Medicare are going broke, yet Congressional retirements and healthcare plans are still solvent. Let's shite on seniors that have paid into SS and Medicare for years and are nearing retirement age, and let's shite on our veterans as well. Their pensions and VA healthcare is some of the worst, but yet we support and re-elect congressional members without fail that feed at the government trough.

US taxpayers have been funding the pensions of Ukrainian government workers. The US is $34 trillion in debt and Social Security and Medicare are underfunded, I would like a line item audit of where that $34 trillion went.
