ding ding. A Columbia grad legal counsel was so bubbled in her cocoon that she genuinely didn't know posting what she did on Facebook would get her fired

This is the story.

That tells you a little bit about the environment she operates in
Whats truly frightening is many leftists constantly advocate handing more power to people like this. They tell us these folks are our betters and should be trusted with important things because “they know what is good for us.”

CBS quite obviously was accepting of that kind of thinking, or she wouldn't have said it.

Uhhh if they were "accepting", why did they can her then? IMO, they were forced into the decision.

vice president and senior counsel

do you know how many VP's CBS has?

here's an opening on linked in for a senior vice president for legal and business affairs based in LA

LINK

according to glass door

The typical CBS Vice President salary is $180,468. Vice President salaries at CBS can range from $140,000-$226,872. This estimate is based upon 4 CBS Vice President salary report(s) provided by employees or estimated based upon statistical methods. See all Vice President salaries to learn how this stacks up in the market. Show Less

LINK

senior counsel is a designation in a corporate legal practice similar to that of senior associate in a private practice, next stop from that would be non-equity partner.

i'll tell you what she's not

she's not CBS's Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, CBS Corporation

that would be a guy named Lawrence Tu.

she's not CBS's Executive Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Secretary, CBS Corporation

that would be a guy named Jonathan Anschell

at CBS, there's VP, Senior VP and then Executive VP.

at my company it's VP, SVP, Director and after Director it's O level.

did she lose a good job? you bet given the attorney end of it, i'm guessing 300k maybe closer 400k depends on what her field of expertise was.

that's why i was shocked that she'd be stupid enough to have a facebook page.

was she a staff attorney no but she wasn't an SVP either.

I hate the liberal left media more than anyone here, plausibly.

Any business would cover its arse this way. They fired her, and they fired her arse fast. There's not a lot else they can do.

In my opinion, they SHOULD air it though, as in what's in their best interest. "See, we are fair and impartial. We fire people that are extreme. See? We're good guy media." As opposed to having people still angry at how they aren't covering it. Unless I'm missing something here.

*edit*

but i understand your utter contempt for them. i do.

She was fired and released an apology. Story was on every news site. Story's over.

Right. And she was in-house counsel, not director of news or whatever. Not sure what more should be done.

This isn't about CBS now. This is about the rest of the media... CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, etc... totally ignoring it and not talking about it.

Had this been a republican and the victims were at a rap concert you wouldn't be able to turn on a TV without hearing about it.

You know it and I know it. Quit playing dumb.

Didn’t some fire chief just get fired for saying something racist or controversial? How many news cycles did that get. I think I saw it linked here once or twice.

What exactly are you demanding? A week? An evening? Page 1 of the Times? She wasn’t even a public official.

What sort of follow up do you want besides her firing, lynching?

Revalator, I'm not a writer, but with a little '50's integrity, CBS could have done a short piece like....

CBS has been one of the journalism pillars of our society for 80 yrs. We look back on our history and see such award winning journalist as Walter Crakcase and yada yada. We wanted to take this opportunity to let our loyal viewers throughout the years that CBS will not stand nor tolerate anti-American rhetoric coming from one of our highest profile departments. Now, many of you may think, "well she was a lawyer", so it can be expected, but we just want our viewers to know that we fired her arse and it won't happen again.

Thank you and good night.

This bitch wants us dead and in the environment she has been in her entire career she thought she would be okay to put her name to saying it.

That's because she and her peers no doubt chat about it.

Some of you libs are morons and others are vile

What she said was widely reported and then she was terminated. I'm not sure what else you want. The story is dead because the actual shooting is taking over the news cycle.

This. Every reporter worth a damn is still in Vegas trying to get a tearful interview from survivors. In a week or so, somebody will be knocking at her door.

This story is barely a full day old.

I'm sure all the liberals are correct.

Had a Fox employee said, "meh, just figs" after Orlando, there would have been zero stories regarding Fox's "culture" that contributed to such thinking from an executive.

She also wasn't a higher up. She was a production VP. That is like being a VP at a bank branch. It is a fancy title that means very little.

end of story. What else do you want?

She should be investigated. All the groups she has ever even thought of being a part of should be exposed to scrutiny. She should be brought before the FBI and Congress and have a special counsel investigate her since the day she was born. Does she ever eat a salad with Russian dressing, has she ever worn a mask, or worn anything black? Has she ever snickered or felt excited over observing any homosexuality? What about bestiality?

Damnit, standards people! If one side of political coin gets it then the other 2,013,456 sides do too!
