Is that what happened?

Destroying your already purchased yeti is silly. Toss a sticker over their logo if you must but dang....why blow it up?

Well I've already agreed with many conservatives in this thread about liberals doing the same stupid thing. I don't really need to start new threads about dumb things that liberals do considering the fact that's already been covered here.

Why did the nra have to throw such a bitchfit? Why didn’t they just cut a deal with another cooler and move on with life?

The answer is because the NRA is a bunch of fear mongering snowflakes.

Want to see the difference between the left and right in this country?

The right will destroy their own property in protest. The left will destroy the property of others in protest.

Not really, why does Yeti give out stickers? Do you think they want people to have the ability to sticker whatever they feel like? No, that's not it, it's because of branding. Seeing the name drives interest and increases the purchases of Yeti products.

Same goes with having the product around, seeing the name, drives interest.

The normal American, regardless of political view, is reactionary and driven by groupthink. With the power of social media, this sort of business strategy is the new normal until people start to catch on, I fear.

It’s like the mafia, the NRA basically says do business with us or we will destroy you.

I didn’t realize the NRA was made up of liberals. You learn something new every day.

There is absolutely a need for that, but the NRA is using fear mongering much like the progressives to push their agenda and personally I don’t like that angle.

and this is why they will never get my money. I have been a gun owner since i was 7yrs old. They had Obama to use against everyone for 8yrs. I wandered what they would use to sell memberships and guns after Trump was elected. Some how every time there is a mass shooting it means an increase in memberships and gun sales. Why because gun owners are snowflakes ! They actually believe that people will take their guns so they run out and buy more. We discussed this topic at my camp this weekend while shooting . I laughed at the amount of ammo my buddies had bought during the Obama years because according to them Obama was going to outlaw bullets. Never happened. We discussed the falling prices of AR platformed guns because Obama never took them from anyone. The NRA played a roll in this but they played a much bigger role in creating the boogey man to keep gun sales high.

Who do you believe will be harmed by what's happened? It's not the NRA, and Yeti should have known better. Again, taking no action was the smart business play and Yeti did not do that.

Now, I understand you want to use this opportunity to rail against the NRA, so I'll step aside and let you do that.

What's the fear being used here?

I don't think fear mongering is the right phrase. I think the NRA was actually bullying Yeti for some reason.

It appears from their two statements that they cannot agree on what actually happened.

Yeah but these protests usually backfire.
Sometimes. True.

The other side will go out and buy more of that product and they'll end up making more.
This usually applies when the standard customer base for the company OPPOSES the protest. IE, a bunch of whiney people bitching about Chic-Fil-A simply motivated the other people who ALREADY liked Chic-fil-A to go a little extra.

I don't see it as very likely that a bunch of people who previously never considered a $400 cooler are suddenly going to make time to buy one because of this controversy.

I disagree and here's why. My neighbor owns a gun store. He says that everytime a Dem starts saying common sense and gun control in the same sentence that some people buy more guns and ammo sales do go up.

However, he said the best salesmen for him are the ones that mention banning of anything gun. That's on the Dems.

You are correct I shouldn’t use it in this case I was speaking in broader terms of their behavior. This is almost more like extortion.
