What if a company decides it's no longer financially responsible to donate to a cause or offer discounts to a group's members? No fanfare or statements indicating they no longer support the case or group, just strictly business.

Then, as a company, you get out in front of it by releasing a statement about the reason. You don't let the NRA frame the narrative and then 3 days later offer an explanation. That's why Trumps twitter, even though I don't agree with some things he tweets, is so effective. He doesn't let the media frame the narrative.

Maybe someone can tell me what the point of destroying an expensive piece of equipment is.

It’s almost as dumb as buying the cooler in the first place.

$350+ for a cooler. $50 for a frickin bucket.

Yeti has done nothing to indicate that they are anti 2A. In fact, the only statement put out by Yeti said they fully support it.

Optics ... and timing. Learn them.

Yeti is being schooled on those two as we post.

Reread that ... now, who's the useful idiot? Seriously. Look in the mirror.

You know Yeti isn't against it at all, right? If you don't believe me please tell me what you think Yeti did or maybe you could read this thread and find the explanations where it turns out it was all a big misunderstanding and the NRA messed up

Yeti seems to have issues with the 2A crowd lately. Last year they had the no carry concealed signs put up in their store and got called out on it. They have rescinded that policy but it's not surprising that they are in another situation. Whether they are or were trying to distance themselves without malice, their carelessness in this environment is beyond ignorant.

It is stupid. You've already bought the dang thing. Why destroy it? Just don't buy another one and go ahead and take the sticker off the back of your truck.

Me and my boys saw this pussy with a yeti sticker on his truck and we rolled coal on his bitch arse. Try to take my guns

The NRA's framing appears to be petty as frick, in my opinion. You're giving them a pass for their intentional effort to mischaracterize the situation because it benefits them.

And you're comparing them to the assholes in liberal media. That doesn't help.

To snowflakes who need a Yeti to put their head inside to keep up the RESISTANCE it seems a waste ...........

But to conservative who don't need it to prevent a melt it is totally expendable

To be fair, you arent being fair. They're completely different things. The only thing that's the same is the symbolism of destroying a thing you feel wronged by.

The differences are numerous:

- Large price difference.

- the Flag represents an entire system with hundreds of years of law and current government practices whereas a cooler represents keeping things cold and a company which decided to stop giving free things to the NRA.

- there are lots of things to want to change your country about but the cooler thing is just a misunderstanding.

So not really to be fair

Do you know for a fact they are mischaracterizing the situation? Like someone posted earlier in the thread, if you don't think the NRA made a call to YETI for an explanation, you are crazy. And with the anti-gun environment being what it is and knowing your competition will capitalize on it, it was a terrible decision by YETI.

I agree they usually back fire but I don't think that will be the case this time. We are talking 200 dollars vs most things being 20 or so. The backlash will be worse and they won't get a bump from the left buying up expensive coolers.

People are claiming yeti hates guns and are burning their overpriced coolers in protest, but I'm the one who needs to calm down?
