I won a Yeti 350 in a raffle couple years ago... No way in hell am I going to destroy it over this crap...

I have never purchased a Yeti product because they are overpriced and there are other brands just as reliable in the marketplace...

It’s obviously to raise awareness and start a conversation.

Most people win them at raffles or are a sales promotion. I don't know I've ever talked to someone who's admitted to paying for one.

I don't see a point in destroying a product of a company you are boycotting. Just give it away. That way, someone who wants that product doesn't spend money with that company or brand. Hurts them worse than just destroying their product.

Again, it's not my thing but this is silly.

If 10,000 people give their Yetis away, that's a blip on the radar and no one other than the people involved in that exchange even notice.

If a few hundred blow theirs up and put it on YouTube, message boards all over the internet explode in discussion about the Yeti decision.

Call people stupid for destroying something they spent good money on if you like. That's valid. Saying it serves no purpose at the precise moment you're in a thread on a message board talking about it is kinda dense.

is stupid. You've already bought the dang thing. Why destroy it? Just don't buy another one and go ahead and take the sticker off the back of your truck.

Right? I feel like all of the protests are a waste of time too. And I mean that on either side. When you publicly protest against the company, the people that oppose your point of view or going to support that company even more.

I feel like the way to protest correctly is just by choosing not to buy a product but not making a public statement about it. That way, sales just silently go down.

Not sure. Maybe the flag burners know the answer.

Also stupid but I can buy a flag for $5. I cannot buy a Yeti cooler for less than 200.

Snowflake behavior would be to see someone else with a Yeti and destroy theirs.

If you spent that much for a cooler without a legit need you don't value money or things anyway

got your attention which means it got the attention of many more people who might be thinking about buying a Yeti.

Mission accomplished.

Yeah but these protests usually backfire. The other side will go out and buy more of that product and they'll end up making more. It happens almost every single time.

No more free marketing on the back window of a pickup truck. That big empty square next to the salt life and Costa decal is going to look like shite.

Liberals have no use for a Yeti cooler. This is a lose lose situation for Yeti and they should have been smart enough to know this.

Lol. I own one. Now I'm not dumb enough to go buy another one just because yall dont like it but it's a fine product.

But not always. Besides, how many snowflakes who hate the second amendment ever buy a cooler?

Im not. I just wanted to know what the resident conservatives think. I remember watching it under GW Bush. A bunch of rednecks were running over Dixie Chicks CDs or pouring out expensive French wines and it didn't make any sense to me then and it still doesn't make sense to me now.

Somebody should come up with one of those Calvin things pissing on the Yeti Logo.

I don't know but that would be an oddly specific poll LOL. By the way, almost everyone owns a cooler. It's not like some special thing that is unique to gun owners and NRA members.

I have a former student that works at Yeti HQ in Austin.

This student maintains that this was a complete miscommunication by the NRA. At no point did Yeti give money to the NRA. They provided some custom items for the NRA Foundation giveaway.

Yeti used to do some custom coolers and cups for the NRA and other organizations. They are still donating the items, but no longer doing the custom work. They have stopped doing this for everyone, not just the NRA.

I'm as conservative and pro 2A as they come, but this is insane.

AR-15s being destroyed by liberals scared of them.

quote:

Maybe someone can tell me what the point of destroying an expensive piece of equipment is. I remember seeing it when all those idiots were pouring out French wines cuz the French didn't approve of the Iraq war or steamrolling a giant pile of Dixie Chicks CDs because they didn't approve of the president going to war. Can anyone tell me what's different about this? Is this going to be something you regret later too? And if you already bought it then you're just wasting your own product and the protest means nothing. If you have to go out and buy one you're just making Armalite more money. Seems like a wasted gesture
