Well, bye Fellatio!

This is all a bunch of liberal whiny bluster. We should call their bluff, though.
What bluff? The letter says nothing about California leaving the US. In fact it explicitly says the opposite. Maybe you guys are a little sensitive?

We need their seaports for defense.

Sanctuary state. Wall them off, at least the lower half.

Panama canal works just fine and so does the Port of New Orleans
Let em leave, and all those goods previously going to Mexifornia will come to the GoM
I, for one, encourage those socialists to leave our Union... and when they cry to rejoin, sanction the frick out of that shitty state

Now wait, lets be rational about this. Think about Hollywood, the money that California alone brings in to the federal government. I really do not think it is a wise idea to just let them go Also, some of the best universities in are California and dont get me started on a little something called "Silicon Valley" and the powerful STEM workforce in that state. California is a very valuable state to our union, and I think we can work out our differences.
Let them leave the US. The companies will move over here to serve our citizens or we will make them pay to play here. None of these companies can survive without the rest of the US population.

Californians make up a significant part of the military. Decent rates of service and the state has a ton of people. Plus the whole fight smarter not harder.
As I already linked, we are a donor state. We give the Feds more than we get back. If you live in the south you very likely can't say the same.
We have oil in California and we refine it. We drink your milkshake. Remember?

Majority of the military comes from the South.
CA is eaten up with sanctuary city mentality.

California represents all that is wrong in America. Let them go.

Let them do all of this without federal money. Let them self fund everything. Let them drill for their own oil and use only their own water. Let them deal with trade tariffs on exports out of California. Let them defend themselves with no military when every US military asset is removed from California. The kids rallying for secession don't see the economic and military impacts. They see it as breaking up with a crazy girlfriend. They think that they'd be able to do business as usual with the US- like we 'd shake hands and be economic partners. They'd be a pariah state cut off and twisting in the wind. They'd be reconquistad before they could pick a new national anthem.

Build The Wall around California to stop Californians from getting into America.

I wholeheartedly support the secession of any state or states who no longer wish to be part of the USA.

'd tell them no. And future talk of secession will be considered treason. We will preserve the union by force if we must. It's an imperative of national security and prosperity that we do.
Compulsory Servitude to the USA? No.

quote:this would be pretty reasonable. split the state up somewhat. It gives us 51 states but oh well who cares.
Split California into North and South?
Yes Cali brings alot, but it has major weakness like it can't produce its own energy, it can't use its own water, and it has no way of protecting itself for the most part. I think that is the beauty of the west coast wanting to leave. How are these people going to protect themselves? they aren't.
Also People always state its rank in world economy, but does anyone think they just keep that rank if they went at it alone without the other states?

That's a map of military enrollment per capita. We have many more 18-24 year olds than your state so 5% of our total is way more than 7% of your total.
