SWAPPING TO SALES TAX IS A GOOD IDEA says the retards of the OT. Y’all’s baw Landry has raised your rate, increased the goods and services that are taxable, and is now trying to hide ending the exclusion of groceries, prescription drugs, and residential electricity in a 100 page document of constitutional changes.

But don’t worry baws, they’re in favor of still not taxing those things, they just want to make it possible “just in case”

LINK

I have it on good authority from this board this was not a tax increase though. Congrats, you all played yourselves…. Again

I will vote no on all constitutional changes that are many things grouped together. If you want me to vote for a constitutional change make it one thing and make it simple.

There was a lawsuit that in plain words pretty much said the same thing that the Supreme Court just threw out.

A reasonable position.

Yeah this was a hard no from me.

You can go to ballotpedia and see arguments for and against these measures. Makes it pretty easy to read more into the issue with different perspectives. Also makes it easy to see that Landry is mostly full of shite.

I’m voting no on all four amendment proposals, but not because of this. We need a fair taxing system, not one constantly picking winners and losers.

This, and it's why I would rather consumption/sales tax than income tax, but Mingo usually brings up good points that also need to be addressed. The biggest issue I have with all of it is politicians have no fricking idea what they are doing and get lobbied by everyone and their mom to create carve-outs.

We need Elon to DOGE all up in Louisiana government. That would be an eye opener.

Hang on……I thought Richard Nelson, the latest conservative genius, isn’t he behind all these tax increases and expanding the tax base? He’s a genius.

LASC or USSC?

Did they rule against it or refuse to hear the case?

~30% voter turnout is why this buffoon is in office. People saw a familiar name and here we are.
