Well, it is kida hard to support that bill so overwhelmingly and simultaneously be so divided over abortion much less taxpayer funded abortion.
At least his vote, which changed nothing and was a great opportunity, just might shine a sliver of light on the hypocrisy.

How are we gonna stop the Chinese government from harvesting organs?
Bill would authorize the Secretary of State to deny U.S. passports and visitor visas to people involved in organ trafficking circles.

Massie is right on this one.
Massie is right to allow visas to be issued to people involved in organ trafficking?

According to the accompanying article OP forwarded:
Whether that actually would translate into anything substantial/meaningful is up for debate I guess.
Massie had previously voted against similar proposal so he’s being consistent I suppose.

It would also call for sanctions on entities and individuals found to have participated in the gruesome illicit industry.

He's been in office since 2012. It's time to do something else, congressman. Time to get off the teat.

The opposite of Charlie Wilson’s getting to vote yes as he votes no so that if he graces you with a yes vote then he’s put some weird approval on the legislation..
I do appreciate his general voting style with spending but his inflexibility is often blustering for nothing

Amen. Who knows what's going to happen when the mid-terms come. This is a rare opportunity to pass legislation to help us out of the disaster created by the Dems.

Bigger question, what is wrong with the Kentucky electorate? Massie, Rand and the Turtle. Why are they all grandstanders?
Posted on 5/8/25 at 9:11 am to hsfolk
Don’t worry if it were a real bill that didn’t cut to his standards, he would vote against it as well. There is no difference between the “principled conservatives” and do nothing Rhinos who prevent anything from getting done. They get to campaign on their principles every election cycle

He’s definitely something of a grandstander.
But that doesn’t make him wrong on this one.
True, other things are what make him wrong here.

He’s not wrong but to vote against it is dumb. It would’ve been better to abstain and say this is a waste of time.
Why? If he's "not wrong", why should he have abstained from voting?
Honestly... had he abstained, the chances of me (and others) learning about this waste of time vote would be slim to none. I'm glad he's drawing attention to Congress' effed up 'priorities'.

Is it not already under the authority of the SoS to deny/approve passports/visas?
What's the burden of proof required that someone is involved in organized organ trafficking? If someone WAS involved stateside, wouldn't they be prosecuted anyway?

You could have it tattooed on your face and the democrats and massie will still support you.

If Massie was truly a principled conservative libertarian, he would impose term limits on himself. But, he'll ride that gravy train and side with the Democrats for decades, instead.

Im against bringing organ harvesters and human traffickers into this country.
From chat gpt
quote:
There is credible evidence and significant international concern suggesting that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has engaged in forced organ harvesting, including from Uyghur Muslims and other ethnic or religious minorities.
Key Points:
International Findings:
In 2019, the China Tribunal, an independent people’s tribunal based in London, concluded that forced organ harvesting has been practiced for years in China and that it likely continues. The Tribunal found that Uyghurs and Falun Gong practitioners were primary victims.
quote:
UN and NGO Reports:
Reports from United Nations human rights experts, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and journalistic investigations (e.g., by The Epoch Times and BBC) have raised alarms over:
Large-scale detentions of Uyghurs in Xinjiang.
Mandatory medical exams and biometric data collection.
Allegations that some detainees have been killed for their organs.
quote:
While absolute proof is difficult due to China’s restrictions on access and information, there is substantial and credible evidence to support concerns that forced organ harvesting involving Uyghurs has occurred and may still be occurring.

Why do you support giving visas to organ traffickers?

Why do you support giving visas to organ traffickers?
Do they NEED a special carve out to deny visas to harvesters/traffickers?
I thought approving/denying visas- for whatever reasons- was already under the purview of the SoS?

WTF is wrong with Thomas Massie?
He’s a libertarian.
This means I agree with most of his positions, as contrasted with my disagreement with most liberal positions.
But.
Libertarians while intellectually superior are highly morally compromised.
