Quick 1-minute read on WSJ.com - thought I'd share. Thomas has always seemed like a standup guy.

quote:

Justice Sonia Sotomayor speaking to the American Constitution Society, June 16:

I suspect I have probably disagreed with him more than with any other justice, that we have not joined each other’s opinions more than anybody else. And yet Justice [Clarence] Thomas is the one justice in the building that literally knows every employee’s name. Every one of them. And not only does he know their names, he remembers their families’ names and histories. He’s the first one who will go up to someone, when you’re walking with him, and say, “Is your son OK? How’s your daughter doing in college?” He’s the first one that when my stepfather died sent me flowers in Florida. He is a man who keeps cares deeply about the court as an institution, about the people who work there, but about people. . . . You really can’t begin to understand an adversary unless you step away from looking at their views as motivated in bad faith, but until you can look at their views and think about what the human reaction is that’s motivating those views.

I would happily submit to a Triumvirant of Thomas, Sowell, and Elder (or Walter Williams before he passed) to re-establish the Republic.

That shite right there is pure evil.

She almost had me thinking she was capable of empathy, but….nope!

She almost sounds sincere in her praise of him until you realize at the end that she's a souless piece of garbage.

Elena Kagan is the only reasonable non trash human on the left side of the bench and that includes John Roberts.

Clarence Thomas, Fred Douglass and Thomas Sowell- in no particular order- are the most intellectually beefed up black Americans to ever live

It really gives away her default attitude towards those who disagree with her, doesn't it? First, they're an adversary, and second, their motivations are in bad faith.

I wonder if she realizes how much she's projecting.

I’m not sure I even understand what she’s supposed to be saying there.

Sounds like she was trying to get a better understanding of him. She votes contrary to almost everything I stand for, but I will never fault a person for looking at interactions and motivations to move beyond simple party lines. Good for her, but I still don't like her.

So it isn’t about the Constitution for her?

The irony…while smearing Thomas over some made up BS that was mild anyway…Biden was having inappropriate showers with his daughter!

An adversary?

That’s how she views him?

Justice is not blind.

This says it all.

They should be interpreting the same constitution. They aren’t adversaries.
