All these states are fricking woke lib lunatic blue. NyC just elected a jihadist communist Muslim terrorist with a smile ( Islams Barrack Hussein Obama). That is a fricking real concern that the marxist crew has literally taken over the democratic party. This just opens up a new strategy. Putting these mf'rs all in Congress and the Senate to eventually win the office of the President of the United States. Where's McCarthy when you need him? Sears was also a horribly weak candidate. I can’t for the life of me figure out why the GOP didn’t put someone better forward.
ETA: anyone surprised by tonight’s results is not checked in. This doesn’t worry me for midterms really. And remember incumbents rarely do well in follow-up elections. It’s just how it goes.

VA should not be looked at as any sort of bellweather.
Purple state to start.
DOGE and Trump have wreaked havoc on the federal bureaucratic structures that support that state and it is rife with white, suburban wine moms tjat live to transition their kids.
That, plus the morons in Richmond and Hampton Roads who can always be relied upon made this inevitable.

15% of Virginia’s population in 2024 is foreign born. It was 11% in 2021. So yes it should be looked at as a bellwether.

A huge portion of Trump voters don’t go out if he isn’t on the ticket. The GOP sucks and are weak and worthless. They kick Santos out the party when he is accused of a crime. Democrats wait for Mendez to be convicted of a crime. Democrats support a candidate who fantasized about murdering his opponents children, republicans cancer and fire randoms lover a group chat. Republicans can’t even get enough votes to censure Ilhan Omar.
