the demographic breakdown off the top of my head. not sure if there's more black or hispanic kids there. what do you think my motivations are for saying it's majority not-white?
Generally speaking if a person isn't specific about such things it's because they want to leave an impression that doesn't actually exist. So. I'll ask again more directly. About what % black is the school???

I can't imagine sacrificing your child's education for political points. It is the antithesis of parenting.
The funny thing about leftists is that they will intentionally do "dumb things" just to prove how much smarter they are than everyone else. And when whatever that dumb thing is goes sideways, act all sanctimonious for having done so.
It's a pathology.
It's a religion.
The left rejects God, yet people are made to need something higher than themselves, so the State fills in for God.

Parental involvement and the overall attitudes towards education by the parents plays far more in the success/failure of a school compared to how the school is actually ran.
The failure is on the parents, not the school itself in the hyper majority of cases.
Yes and no.
Nobody ever got fat eating bananas. However, eating bananas can sabotage someone who is trying to lose weight. They won't make you fat, but they can prevent you from reversing that trend.
This is kind of the same way.
I agree that parental involvement, supervision, and expectations cannot be matched or replaced by the school. In other words, if the parents don't care, nothing the school can do can make up for that.
But I don't think it works the other way around.
If your child is motivated and supported and has expectations, but is just one child in a sea of children whose parents don't care and the school is just coasting and surviving day to day, your child will lose that scenario 10 times out of 10.

I don't know what these people were thinking or hoping to accomplish by cheating their daughter out academic rigor and support like this.
I read Hannah-Jones' screed on the topic, and it is disgusting: In Fighting for Every Black Child, Did I Betray My Own? The woman couldn't even come to the conclusion herself, so she essentially asks the reader. But their is material in the piece that will be of interest to you.

FYI. Scoring high in proficiency in math in public schools means getting 50% on test. No achievement
I know a couple of kids that graduated from Ben Franklin (#1 government high school in Louisiana) and all were members of the DSA while in high school, and hate the USA. That’s some accomplishment there. That’s school should be razed to the ground

Sounds like parental child abuse

So you think I'm trying to leave the impression that this school doesn't exist? I'm confused about the accusation.

It's a simple question. Ball park. What's the BLACK percentage of the school?

Emotional? Hardly. Think you were the emotional one given your posts. Projection is certainly a thing with you people...

What logic led you to believe my being involved in my children's educations would be a bad thing? Seemed like an emotional leap because you are upset that I don't blindly support the politicians you do.

I don't know. Why does it matter? What do you think having a black population of 40% vs 50% would prove?

The majority of black people don't value education. It's pretty obvious.

Do you know the exact racial make up of schools your kids attended?
I surely don't for mine. Just from general observation of the student body, I'd certainly say they were majority white, but I couldn't specify percentages with any confidence beyond that.

My white kids go to a public school that is majority not white. We had parent teacher conferences Friday and both scored near perfect on their reading benchmarks and are doing great in math.
Can’t believe you’re allowing your children to so blatantly flaunt their white privilege.
