The 1992 Bill Clinton may be able to win a general election today but wouldn’t be able to sniff a Democratic nomination.

Convictions? Give me someone that can reason over someone with convictions.

Abortion, for example, I’m moderate. I don’t like it, I want policies in place to reduce its need and excessive availability. However, I also recognize the right to bodily autonomy from government, within reason. Do embryos have rights? No. Does a fetus at 8 months have some semblance of the rights afforded to all Americans; damn right it does.

With populists, just like you always have. Let the herd decide for you, boom, you’re a “moderate”.

We've had plenty:
Bob Dole
John McCain
Jeb Bush
John Kasich

There's been tons of them.

Ranked choice voting. Current system has candidates pandering to the nut jobs and the nut jobs electing candidates.

You cannot run a fricking moderate when the leftists control all the fricking institutions.

Like everywhere else, this site is getting more and more infected with bullshite.

Pretty much.

The left and their flying monkeys in the media make up hoaxes and imaginary stories to paint him as right wing, but he's really not.

A moderate is unlikely to get the party nomination.

Can you give an example of a right-wing religious nut that has ever won the Republican nomination?

Trump really isn’t that conservative. He is more of a populist.

Trump is not conservative or liberal, he's a problem solver and most of the problems we face today were due to left/liberal policies.

Convictions?

The US Constitution is the supreme law of the land, and it means what it says.

quote:

This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any state to the Contrary notwithstanding.

That was hard.

Tiny bit of the 10th Amendment:
quote:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Does someone that believes those two things mean that person can't "reason?"

Every tyrant in history can "reason" their way into any stance or action.
