Price of oil being high certainly helps him fund it

He’s still operating in the black with the money we’re sending for our energy needs, you know, since there’s nowhere around the US to get energy.

If he is cut off from SWIFT he can’t get paid for the oil and gas he exports. Russia only had a 120 billion ruble (remember that it takes 80 rubles to equal 1 USD) surplus.

He’s screwed either way.

That’s why we shouldn’t get involved. ESPECIALLY if Europe doesn’t.

Who said that, Russia/Putin?

The Ruble and Russian stock market are crashing. There is a run on banks there as well. Shortages are getting worse. Inflation was already near 10% before this.

That weaponry and the cost of logistics is pretty darned high. Russia is not the most streamlined manufacturer in the world with extremely low worker productivity

Easily that. For Crimea it was estimated at around a billion per day. This is much costlier

Moscow Times reported a billion a day for Crimea takeover.

This is much larger and Putin is not gaining ground like he thought. Other than oil/gas exports Russia is an economic midget

China is gauging his weakness now, and it is glaring. They have always wanted Siberia

The real question is is this really happening because Ukraine's president/prime minister weren't actually Ukrainians?

Putin has talked about how the Soviet Union was initially run by the same people running Ukraine and how horrible it was for the natives.
