The NRA is a corrupt organization that does little to fight for the rights of gun owners. I couldn't give two shits if they're the sacrificial lamb in all of this. Good luck with the deprogramming though. Sounds like you have some serious work to do.

Ask her what a 3 day wait would have accomplished in this scenario. Is it any better if the shooter waits 3 days. This dude was waiting until he turned 18 to do this. Lord knows how long this idea has been in his head.
This is the problem to any gun reform legislature. It punishes the millions of legal law abiding gun owners with little to no return. Then we pass the next legislature, with little to no return. None of the suggestions presented in congress or society actually move the needle on gun crimes and certainly none that pass the 2A smell test. This kid, from what I understand, wasn't on any watch lists unless I've missed it. What background check would have prevented this?

The ^^^above are all over 30 year sayings; that no one ever truly does anything about after whatever election is at hand.
The Brady bill and that woman shot in the head that was a congress critter got bills they passed AND NO BILL DID ANYTHING to help the mentally insane.
Furthermore, tell your wife that in England and Australia they all turned their guns in. Then they banned guns and knives and IT ACCOMPLISHED NOTHING. There are still beheading slashes and murders with guns and knives.
This latest push is the swamp democrats wanting to curve how freely anyone can buy a gun at a gun show because the govt is AFRAID of a revolt of globalization and the great reset.
