Nope - My OP is stating that the Media and Hurricane Center got it WRONG which is the reason there are more deaths then normal and it so happens to be in the middle of an election year where THEY hate the Governor of the State where the Hurricane is hitting.

Sorry that you thought the forecast track from Sunday evening would be exactly what happened. That was an incredibly stupid thing to believe.
The forecast did not cause more deaths. Anyone on the entire SE coast south of Tampa that stayed did so at their own peril. There was always a chance of direct landfall anywhere along the coast. Anyone that stayed in that area because the NHC said it would actually come ashore farther north is a fricking idiot.

All I am saying is that the media was wrong. Just like the media is purposely wrong about a LOT of shite and for the assholes giving me shite about asking a legit question, go outside and put your masks on and get your 10th booster shot.

How in the frick was the entire state of Florida (including the panhandle was in the cone of uncertainty 48 hours before the storm hit and then all of a sudden it hits SOUTHWEST Florida??? Explain that to me Mr. Hurricane Professionals
Direct hit was supposed to be Jacksonville a few days prior - Jacksonville! “Oh it’s going to hit Jacksonville, I don’t need to prepare for this shite if I live in Ft Myers”

the idiocy in the OP…you do realize that this storm approached at an angle nearly parallel to the west coast of Florida, where small deviations in approach heading led to huge distances on the FL gulf coast, unlike the perpendicular approaches you typically see in La/Texas/Mississippi…geometry people
