Why isn't the Trinity mentioned in the bible?

The Trinity was never held to be the 'official doctrine' of Christianity until several centuries after Jesus's death.

Initially, there was a period of "low Christology" where Jesus was seen as a human and mortal prophet by the first Christians. Later, there was a movement towards "higher Christologies", where Jesus went from being seen as a human prophet, to being seen as an "adopted" Son of God, to being an actual associate of God, to being God Himself.

Jesus being worshiped as God (in the way we think about today) was a development that came about much later after Jesus's death.

I'm genuinely curious as to why it's not mentioned, considering it's the foundation of most modern day Christianity.

Well when Jesus said I am after being questioned by the pharisees what He said is Yaweah. That's why they tore their robes and crucified Him. He made the claim of deity there and throughout the New Testament. Mark 14:62-63

Wrong. The first “Christians” were the apostles. They knew of Christ’s divinity. Peter even proclaimed it.

Trinitarian language is used frequently in the Bible. The “Trinity” is a term that was developed later to describe what was apparent in the scriptures, from Genesis to Revelation.

Because Yeshua bar Yusef was a pious Jew seeking to reform the corrupt priestly hierarchy. He would have been horrified at the notion that billions of people would come to see him as a deity.

When Saul took the show on the road, it became necessary to expand the movement beyond Judaism.

2 Corinthians 13:14
14 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

Luke 1:35
35 The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.

Matthew 28:19
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Luke 3:21-22
21 When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened
22 and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”

You are absolutely wrong. If you want an extra-biblical account, consider that Pliny wrote to Trajan that the Christians would gather before the sunrise on the Lord's Day and sing hymns to Christ as God.

They didn't have garlic, onions and celery. They just had olives and figs.

Nice selective edit
quote:

61 … the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?”

62 “I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
verse 62 does not say that Jesus was claiming to BE God, it says that he was claiming to be the Son of God.

Yes, there are implicit statements he made ("I am", etc) exclusively in the Gospel of John, and that Gospel is problematic in and of itself, given its historiographical reputation and relationship with the other Gospels.

The Old Testament spoke of the inclusion of the Gentiles to come. That wasn’t a novel concept with Paul.

Jesus accepted worship and did and said things that only God could legitimately do and say (He forgave sin, for instance). Jesus is God, so He would not be horrified that billions saw Him as deity, because He was proclaiming as much while He was on earth. He was threatened with stoning multiple times for “blasphemy” due to His words and actions.

You are the worst pseudo-intellectual on this site, and that's saying a whole lot. Have you ever cracked open a New Testament? The first people to lay eyes on Jesus worship him. He talks frequently of God being his Father. The Gospel of John in particular is ALL about explaining the divinity of Jesus.

John 8:54-58
New International Version
54 Jesus replied, “If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me. 55 Though you do not know him, I know him. If I said I did not, I would be a liar like you, but I do know him and obey his word. 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad.”

57 “You are not yet fifty years old,” they said to him, “and you have seen Abraham!”

58 “Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!”

What if Jesus was just an elaborate troll who tricked billions into following him for centuries instead of the true God thus condemning them to hell for eternity

One God, three persons.

They are the same in substance, equal in power and glory, as the Westminster Shorter Catechism says.
