Here’s a reason:

More than 37 million Americans have diabetes (about 1 in 10), and approximately 90-95% of them have type 2 diabetes.

Type 2 is avoidable yet….

Just be glad you don't live in Germany because 40% of your paycheck would go towards your free health care.

well?

Maybe you forgot how hard it was for the Dems to pass Obamacare in the first place. Remember Obama had to basically go "on tour" and lie to the America people. "You like your plan, you keep your plan", etc. This law, the ACA, was passed on huge lie after huge lie.

It was hard to pass and it will be hard to repeal. Repubs will need a nice majority to repeal it.

It was high before Obamacare but after Obamacare it has doubled for middleclass because we are subsidizing all the deadweight.
I'm an engineer that does contract work. Before Obamacare I had 1 kid and wife and was buying my own private plan for $600/mnth.
After Obamacare took full effect, these plans were now $1300-1500/mnth. That is insane. So now I do one of these cost share plans and that is $360/mnth.
So Obamacare made health insurance affordable for the low income crowd and spiked the cost to the middle class as we have to subsidize them plus the standard coverage has to cover so much more. So it made it less affordable for us.
Once again, Congress/Obama label a law as Affordable Care Act, but it is actually the opposite.

Being self employed my Blue Cross Blue Shield plan was canceled and healthcare cost tripled. So they made me get on a policy with Ambetter. When I tried to use that at my dermatologist they basically said I was on welfare. I only have two choices in SC. Needless to say I found another dermatologist.

Dammed if you do and dammed if you don't. What a corrupt clusterfrick.

I should've never been a replace. I should've been repeal. Show the cost increase to avg family with Obamacare as your argument. We shouldn't have to pay for other's health insurance.

my good frog,
republicans had house senate and trump 2 years.
ryan house passed a bill to repeal and replace .
the McConnell senate would not even vote on it.
it was perceived as political disaster for senators to run on.

maybe you are young.
your post says you missed the ryan house passed a replacement that trump wanted out loud because trump wanted an accomplishment. we never had McConnell ryan trump in a room to hammer out some bill. flopped.

Because doctors and lawyers can advertise. Leads to over-prescribed, litigious society.

The answer is that it is not based on a transfer for healthcare, everything is based around the involvement of insurers.

Without spreading the risk through insurers, how does the average person pay for say a gall bladder surgery?

Because we are one of, if not the most, unhealthy developed country in the world. Healthcare companies have to pay for 50% of our population being overweight, thus increasing the cost to everyone.

There's been a ton of studies recently about the direct link between VO2 Max and MET score and a reduction in all cause mortality. I'd love for someone to have rolled out during COVID and stated the obvious: get out there and exercise.

This is the correct answer and this was the entire purpose of Obama care.

Every piece of economic legislation passed by Obama or Biden admin was designed to take money from likely Republican voters and give it to likely Democrat voters. Obamacare is probably the best example.

And are in 6x as much debt because of other taxes.

Denmark also has the highest food prices, and while they try to put on a utopian front they are falling apart. Only reason they are able to stay afloat is the US hasn’t collapsed and keeps sending them billions every year for a population less than 2% the size of the US

Your side never mentions that factoid Otto.
