Trumps last tax cuts benefited the half of America who actually pays federal taxes by increasing the standard deduction

People whining about "billionaires" are likely referring to lower corporate tax rates. Which is also not for "billionaires" - if they had a job, they would know that their ROTH or 401k also benefited from lower corporate tax.

That’s yearly payroll costs. Now do the unfunded liability that is their pensions…….

Also look at how much support is required for each employee. Computers, office space, office supplies (that the government pays x10 actual cost) training software.

Then cut some of the agencies out all together and take their budgets.

Firing a few hundred thousands federal employees is just political theater and and small change in the big scheme of things, all part of a script that sets up the one big beautiful bill with the beautiful stimulus package for rich sons of bitches.

Fair enough. Personally, I want to see as much of it cleaned up as possible. Big. Medium. Small.

I don't have perfect knowledge of the situation, but there's no doubt in my mind that the Federal government contains a seriously bloated workforce of fat-cat, unelected bureaucrats. It's just one more component of the overall problem.

Do I think they might end up cutting some "meat" along with the fat? Unfortunately, I think it's unavoidable. But, the alternative is to not do it at all, and I think that would be a much bigger mistake.

Meat and fat is to kind. Its more like a cancer. To cut out the cancer, they have to remove some healthy cells as well. Government is a cancer.

Because its infected with the woke virus

Are you seriously contending if the federal workforce was trimmed, Americans will be put in harm's way? Please tell us this was sarcasm.

You’ve never owned a business

You were never in management of a business

That was responsible for a P&L statement

And frick off with “it’s only a drop in the bucket”

bullshite

My goal financially

Is to keep as much of my money as possible

You should donate more of your money to the federal government

And help save the planet

How many private companies offer life long pensions at full salary? Federal pensions The Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) is the current retirement system for federal employees. To qualify for a FERS pension, you must work for the federal government for at least five years. Your benefit is based on your "high-3 average pay," which is the average of your highest basic pay over three consecutive years. You may also be eligible for Social Security benefits.

Lol, I work for the government. 17 years at various agencies. You do not get your full salary when you retire. It’s a percentage and it’s way lower than you think. I’m not upset for what is going on right now and if I have to go, I go.

ETA: I will get social security because I have paid in since I started working at 18. Federal government retirement is 3 parts. FERS (or CSRS for more seasoned people), social security and TSP. Retired from the military after 32 years ( over 11 years active duty) so I will get that as well. Is there waste, absolutely. Is it every government employee, absolutely not.

Are you saying there should be no teachers, home health aides, social workers, or other workers to care for children, the disabled, and the elderly?

Are these really the examples you used as to why we shouldn’t make massive cuts?

Our public education system is god awful. We’ve got kids graduating high school with a 3.0+ GPA and can’t even read what’s on the diploma. The decline of our public education starting with the creation of the Dept of Education. Hell, charter schools get some public funding but a lot of their $$$ comes from donations and grants from the private sector and scores show they are better then public schools.

Home health is horrible and lots of abuse goes on, if they even show up at all. My mom helps out a family friend who is disabled and the wife has Alzheimer’s. It’s a horrible situation. They go thru at least 10 aides a year. They don’t show up, steal from them with zero remorse or flat out will refuse to do their job. In the last 6-8 years, only 1 aide has been worth what they are getting paid. And she left to go to the private sector since it’s better run, surrounded by better co-workers and better pay.

And what have we been told to do the last few decades regarding the short comings of public services like these? They are underfunded and need more $$$. So they get more $$$ and absolutely nothing has changed and I’d argue they have gotten even worse. At some point, basic economics comes into to play. You want to keep your job? Provide value, show you are worth it. These services fail to do that and do not care about the quality of work done.

If these people are actually good at their job, they will have no problem getting hired. There is a HUGE need for good teachers, home health aides, etc. But most are absolutely horrible and do not give a shite at all and just leeching off the govt.

stopped here. Not going to read anyone's spiel if they think the gov should continue to employ people because it would hurt a local economy.
