Yeah, I figure that’s the George Bush funeral but why does the country have to shutdown that day?

The President signed an Executive Order proclaiming it a National Day of Mourning so the government will shut down.

I am a BIG fan of Bush-41, and I actually agree with Parmen. Shutting down the whole thing seems a bit much.

So millions of federal workers who never met George Bush can mourn his passing by getting an extra paid holiday to go fishing or sleep in late or day drink

The press can have a big audience.

Then they can claim they are bipartisan by giving him favorable coverage for one day.

It's just a move by the Employees Association[Union] to get a paid holiday off. Don't care about Bush at all, just paid day off. I know.

No. Because Trump declared a National Day of Mourning for former President George H.W. Bush. Bitch to him if you don't like it.

Bitch to your great president, Trump. He's the one shutting down the government for a day over a former president from 27 years ago.

No shite!

Way way way too much bloat - 2/3rds of it needs to be shutdown permanently.

It's also a training holiday for DOD as well, both in uniform and not.
