So true -

many of us on here have actually witnessed the slippage during these past 70 years. I for one, was a 'classical liberal' (nothing at all like the modern ideology what I define as radical left) in my youth. As a teenager in the 50s I still recall my first thoughts on how to handle medical insurance was to just let the government be the insurer = what could possibly go wrong with that?

Fortunately I matured rapidly and by the time I was old enough to vote (21 in those days) I had become a reliable conservative.

Watching our national culture rot away for the past 70 years has been a sad experience. I firmly believe Trump has given us the opportunity to at least slow the deterioration, and hopefully reverse the trend. If we don't take advantage of this opportunity, I think nothing will save us but a bloody revolution - which I just don't see happening.
