If you dont bring in top talent, their home country will profit.

Imagine if the Soviets had gotten all those German rocket scientists after WWII.

I'm witnessing an interesting phenomenon. The anti-MAGA crowd, who always want to criticize anyone in Trump's orbit, are actually becoming more "America First" and turning MAGA. It's amazing

Give specific examples

You need to clarify if its the O-1 type of talent you are talking about or the worker bee H-1B talent

A few people got big mad yesterday when I threatened to bump old threads about "Fight for 15" and other living wage-based rants.

They don't understand they're now making the same argument (American workers deserve a living wage) and do NOT like the hypocrisy being pointed out.

. If you are a hardworking good coder from America then you won't ever have to worry about your job being replaced.

That’s false. I know plenty of people in oding, IT Support, or cybersecurity that are replaced en masse by H1B Indians.

Usually they try to sweeten the deal and say you’re fired today or you can train your replacement.

If you use any product and think “support was great, but then I started getting more non-English speaking CSRs and it sucks now What happened?” It’s because they laid off Americans.

It’s not that the Indians are better support people. They just work at half cost. I work with Palo Alto Networks, Crowdstrike, Cisco, and Abnormal
Security every week.

I will tell you that a white or Asian dude in their 30s, 40s and maybe early 50s are the absolute top of the field 90% of the time.

Your argument is the 2024 version of "who will pick the cotton?".

330 million people in this country but we're too stupid to fill our own jobs. We need guys who eat cow shite.

They are even pulling the leftist "muh greedy corporations" talking points.

As I have said for years, I don't have TDS. I just don't like the economic leftism from MAGA/Trump.

Last week we had them mad at fiscal conservatives, begging for the ability to borrow/print more money to increase federal spending.

This week we have them mad at capitalism, begging for living wages.

I am getting curious where we go next week. Maybe after Christmas they do the "American consumerism" socialist rant and they start arguing private property is bad and we need to limit personal property.
