Just regulate their ability to hire labor

Just because you favor corporate management over labor does not mean the other side is socialists.

I have specifically used the word leftist.

Favoring engaging in regulatory behavior to artificial favor labor over freedom is leftist economic philosophy

It’s just the other side of the equation within capitalism.

Capitalism, at it's heart, is the lack of government in the market and individual choices. That's why it's also called freedom.

More government to pick winners and losers is the opposite of freedom

I mean, we caught a Civil War over this.

What I’m recommending in the OP is for the “capitalists” to go around the government. Stop asking the government for more and just outsource the labor.

These companies that are jonesing for more labor are totally free to outsource there coding duties. No one is stopping them.

And they should be able to hire domestically as well, in capitalism

We issue 85,000 H1B visas a year. Apparently you don’t believe that is enough. What is the right number?

I know it’s argument reductio ad absurdum but so is open borders under the context of a nation state.

Why are they needed anyway? A few good coders who know how to prompt ChatGPT correctly can take the place of 20 good foreign coders.

Will be the reality soon enough.

These workers are just stop gap IMO.

Sure why would I need remote support for monitoring data when I can write code to do exactly what I want by using ChatGPT
