The narrative of why theres a shutdown and whose fault it is, matters less the longer this goes. Its now more about the fact that the current admin cant really have a strong economy or effect a good job in many places when the gov is closed. Its the end game the dems know, cut off the nose to spite your face. The absence of good things happening, is bad.

Really?

What you’re asking about isn’t a “state of the union“ address. He’s going to do that anyways as per tradition. Technically the first address the President makes after the election & when taking office is not called the “state of the union“.

Good idea. And don't put it behind a fox nation paywall.

Going on TV and telling a large percentage of the population that they are fighting to make their healthcare more expense, during a time that his approval ratings are tanking due to economic conditions / affordability is probably not his best play at the moment.

There needs to be a convention of states and the south and Midwest get away from the democratic evil that has plagued this country.

He needs to make truth posts that aren't long arse points with no paragraph breaks.

Hit the points in a simple format.

why can't he?

Technically a President (or anyone for that matter) must be invited to speak to Congress. Based on the combined number of Representatives and Senators, the House chamber is the only one large enough to host a joint session; hence the invitation must come from the Speaker of the House.

The SOTU as described in A2 S3 wasn't initially envisioned as a speech but a written report.

He's got to find one that can build a relationship and stop acting like its all about me, his narcissism is the Achilles heal. Fetterman is the that type guy

Reagan did everything for the people!!...Do it for the people and get this country out of the slump!!

Reagan would give the most eloquent speech and make it sting the democrats, and they would still respect him!!

Times have changed in the past 40 years. Reagan would be called a nazi and everything else they call Trump even if he was the president today delivering eloquent speeches. Comparing the two political environments is pointless considering how far left the democrats have moved.

The democrats also respected Reagan so much that they stabbed him in the back over immigration. I can think of better ways to show respect.

Because he can't. I assume you mean an address to the nation though, from his oval office, and not the joint address before both chambers.

The president can give a SotU any time he wants, as long as both chambers extend an invitation. The problem is that such a resolution would be open to filibuster.

OK, address the nation from the oval office, then...... Let everybody in the nation know that Katanji Brown Jackson is the one that wouldn't let Trump send out the money for EBT cards... Let everybody know EVERY DETAIL ON WHY IT'S THE DEMOCRATS.......

Call for a debate between the POTUS and the DEM Senate Leader - each given 30 minutes to state their case - and any non-factual utterance results in abandonment of their position.

We would lose in three minutes.

Why don’t we let Vance do it.

Because that would call for Johnson to reconvene the House, which he doesn't want to do because he'd have to swear in Arizona rep Grijalva, which he doesn't want to do because then there would be enough votes to pass the motion to expose the Epstein pedos.

You are kidding, right? Trump wouldn't get past his first statement. The amount of bullshite that comes out of that man's mouth is astounding.

It was an effective dress down of Dems they would not stand for young black man with a brain injury.
