Muslims become a majority and 25 years later the Country is 96% Muslim.
I don't think Ottoman Syria had a population of majority Christians. At the beginning of the Arab Kingdom of Syria, before the French mandate (or maybe the census was after the mandate) the number of Syrian Christians was 12% of the total population of Syria, around 1 million people. Given that Damascus was so important to the Umayyads, I'm very skeptical of the claim that Christians had a majority for a long period of time after the Umayyads.

The Quran does not so instruct. There is one passage tharefers to pagans in Mecca 9:5, and some assholes( like Hannity) who have tried to say it is an admonition to kill all non- Muslims. That is not the case, and it certainly isn’t followed in that way by the majority of Muslims. Islam is a religion that maintains some tenets that definitely don’t seem to fit with Western enlightenment, but mostly, it’s been misused for purposes of gaining political power among susceptible populations.

Islam's religious tenets are not contained solely in the Quran. Other books called the Hadith contain other tenets. Any Imam will tell you that both the Quran and the Hadith are necessary to follow their faith.
Within the Quran and the Hadith you will find the Islamic tenet that violence and killing are both acceptable when used against recalcitrant Infidels who refuse to convert after being given the chance.
The Leader of the Caliphate may opt to allow the Infidels to pay a Dhimmi tax HOWEVER the Leader or his successor may change this rule at any moment on his own authority and require the Infidels to convert or die.
Learn. Learn, and THEN pontificate, Grasshopper.

Well the extremist do but that's because they're extremist. Now there a lot of Muslims that don't like America occupying what they perceive as Holy land but it's a majority of these aren't trying to kill Americans. In fact we have Muslism groups fighting with us against groups like ISIS

The Quran is supposedly the words of God as spoken to Mohammed when he flew to heaven on Barrack.
The Hadith is supposed accounts of Mohammed carrying out the words of God. Killing non-believers and raping the women of his foes are certainly accounted for in the Hadith.
