re: Why did Bud Light get the boycott but Jack Daniel's didn't?

He really is deranged.
In one breath, he’s complaining because people aren’t also going after every other company and in another…..complaining about “cancel culture”.

I for one, am done with Jack. It's shite anyway but still...
Tennessee whiskey or bourbon is just not enjoyable IMO. What separates Tennessee whiskey from the rest of American whiskeys are two things: 1. it has to be distilled and aged in Tennessee and 2. the white dog off the still has to be filtered through sweet maple charcoal. It's the latter that throws off the taste for me. The burned residual flavors from the charcoal made from the sweet maple tree is not a flavor profile I enjoy.
But back to the boycott issue.
The reason why Jack Daniels is not taking a hit is because you pour the drink in glass and the glass does not have a label on it. The majority of time drinking is a social activity. With a cocktail in a glass you are not advertising the type of whiskey that's in your glass while holding it in your hand. Whereas with beer, drinking it from the bottle or can, you cannot avoid advertising among your social circles. People do not want to be seen with a BL bottle or can in their hands. It's that simple.

I am boycotting Jack Daniels too. I switched to Dickel.

There is a small batch distillery in Tennessee name Prichard's. They make a Tennessee whiskey that taste a lot different than JD or Dickel. Somehow they got an exemption from the TN state ATF to call their whiskey Tennessee whisky without going though the sweet maple charcoal filtering process.
quote:
This subtle difference enriches our whiskeys with a touch of sweetness that we have become well known for. Our Tennessee Whiskey is a one-of-a-kind spirit, in that we are the only Tennessee Whiskey exempt from the required charcoal mellowing process.

I boycott both because they both suck.

I do believe it would be beneficial to have a thread on the politics board of which companies have gone fully woke. It can be updated with poster’s individual experiences.

I couldn't imagine what one has to do to get booted from the OM board.
Literally ask the admin of the OM board to “ban me”

His stance on this is such a sharp and notable contrast to his other posting habits that it is forcing me to draw the conclusion that he is either directly employed by an AB distributor, or a close relative or friend is.

A lot more BL drinkers than Jack.

Are you smart enough to know the difference between "cancel culture" and a boycott? My money says no.

Well, i'd boycott paying taxes if i wouldn't land in jail for doing so.

I have been boycotting them for over a decade since they both taste terrible.
Posted on 5/10/23 at 8:31 am to Landmass
Bc they're consumed very differently and by a different group.

This is a message board populated by mainly southern white males and you seriously think there are no former Bud Light drinkers on here??

Your entire post isn't something I disagree with. However, the statement above, I'm not seeing cancel culture.
Cancel Culture would be folks calling for the CEO of Anheuser Busch and/or the commercial-maker to be fired. Cancel Culture would be folks calling on the TAF/Federal Government to shut Anheuser Busch down.
Leftists do that. I'm not seeing that from the conservative side.
I'm seeing folks simply opt to not drink Bud Light or Anheuser Busch beers.
Of course, I do find it ironic that so many pro-American, MAGA patriots were drinking so much Bud Light in the first place. You'd think they'd drink beers from actual United States based and owned companies.

never heard of that - I always was a JD&coke fan but have not had occasion to enjoy one in 5-6 years.
In the meantime, I have sworn off CocaCola in all forms and now will toss JD to the side.
Hardly any impact at all given my almost non-existent contributions even at my most active - but it is all I can do nonetheless.
Just like I switched banks when the BLM shite started getting insane with all the 'support' ads.
f em all.
