By the time I’m eligible for it, there won’t be any left.

It's not sustainable.

It will cut itself.

Because social security is going broke and wont be around by the time im eligible to use it anyways, and i don't use medicare, i work and pay for my healthcare and they practically hand that shite out to any bum without a job and illegal alien, both groups dont pay into system yet can take from the system, and if they keep that up, medicare probably won't be around for much longer neither

Mitch McConnell has practically announced his intentions to cut social security, Medicare, and Medicaid.

I wish they would eliminate them and give me my money back to invest as I see fit. The gov't wasn't designed to be a retirement solution provider or a healthcare provider. They suck at it.

Those are 3 of the most popular programs in American History. And they effect Trumps base just as much as Dems. Ironically more so if you believe conservatives work harder, meaning they pay more into social security.

It is bankrupting our country. Conservatives are able to oppose “free” things when the realize there are negative consequences to the country. That you are dumbfounded how conservatives would oppose these social programs simply because they personally benefit says everything about you.

The real problem with Social Security and Medicare is that the liberals have turned it into a free give away program for those that have not paid into it. This is what pisses off sane normal thinking people. We pay into it and just like clock work liberal socialist come in and grab as much as they can to buy votes from their lazy, ignorant constituents.

This comment hit the nail on the head. Anytime you pay out to someone that hasn't paid in there is no way for the program to sustain it's self.

So, what you're telling me is that, poof, it will be gone, right? Same as always, sky screamers with their sky is falling crap. To answer your first question, no I am not worried. I, like many others, have done other things to get along later in life. What have you done?

I'm blessed to have a 401k.

I'm just trying to think about the well being of others. Why is so wrong to care about the negative impact this will have on the working poor.

People just want their tribe to win nowadays. It's like a college football rivalry x100. Screw the consequences.

(Talking about both sides.)

These programs are financially insolvent. They were conceived at a time where the typical American could not easily invest in corporations or other vehicles easily or cheaply. This is no longer the case.

I do not need or want the government investing my money for me. Furthermore, there are too many restrictions on these monies which make it impossible to build generational wealth.

These programs hinder more Americans than they help and should be dissolved as soon as possible and replaced with NOTHING.

Okay, that's great. Nothing wrong with caring but what can you do about it? Nothing. Social Security isn't going to help those working poor if that is all they have. It isn't enough now. Everyone has choices to make and some don't choose well. It doesn't matter who is in charge, it was going to change no matter what. People need to wake up and start thinking about their financial future.

Because I took the necessary measures to take care of myself and my family.

I don't depend on using the government's gun to coerce money from other people.

Because this board is all about MAGA. Criticism of Republicans is automatically downvoted.

Stop thinking and trying and actually do something about it.

Sell all of your belongings and give it to the poor.

Don't use the governments gun to steal from others to make you feel better about your inaction.

Bc I likely will never need either program.

I rely on my head and my hands, not the gubment and other people’s hard earned tax dollars

I am below 45. I take responsibility for my own retirement. I wish more people would do this.
