Military conquest and success is a surefire way to rekindle the fire of the US spirit.

It's a sure fire way to get a lot of people killed and have more of our assets and interests in the region attacked.

The 1950s and 1990s are widely regarded as periods of immense happiness and patriotism in America.

Why?

Because we just won a world war and the Cold War and war in Kuwait, respectively.

I want that

I think this is the problem. You are listening to media pundits who have no idea what is being negotiated. According to Trump, Rubio, and Bessent, Iran isn’t dictating anything. That’s why no deal has been reached. Iran isn’t in a position to dictate anything. They are being destroyed economically right now. The US has essentially implemented a siege strategy which appears to be working very well. With such a strategy, however, you must have patience. Trump seems to be willing to keep the siege in place until Iran agrees to our key terms.

They won’t honor any deal.
Should be obliterating them then.

Or….maybe we should have never started military operations against Iran.

This nihilistic bs enrages me.

We spend more on military than any nation sans China.

What’s the point of having the most powerful military if cynical, eeyore people like you automatically assume we won’t win a conflict?

This is delusional. We have no uranium, no regime change, and troops on long deployments fiddling their thumbs while high gas prices are already hurting people and some people say energy and food markets are going to explode in the fall.

Why does it require killing thousands of “enemies” to give our populace a renewed sense of optimism & strength? Holy hell!

Because there’d be way too many civilian casualties if we pounded them into submission

America (as a whole) lacks commitment.

If something can’t be achieved with lightning quickness it will turn into a political war at home and get bogged down.

Short of an enemy attacking us here on home soil, I don’t think today’s America would get united behind any cause.

And with the way things have been increasingly becoming polarized here at home, I’m no longer even sure an attack on home soil would unite all Americans any longer.

America is at an uncertain tenuous point in its history these past several years to present day and it’s anyone’s guess how this all ultimately plays out.

That’s how we lose elections.

Anyone who is concerned about Democrats in charge needs to be concerned here

You’re happy to sacrifice American men to continue your archaic and failed policy you’ve peddled for the better part of 40 years I bet. You’d never go yourself to accomplish these shortsighted and selfish goals, of course.

That’s why you’re a scumbag.

Again, where are you hearing this?

Scott Bessent was interviewed this morning. He said Iran was open to abandoning its nuclear program. That’s a pretty significant achievement. He also said the regime is desperate for money. It’s been choked off from trading with the blockade and it doesn’t have access to capital. I think you should be patient and let the process play out.

The reason it’s taking so long is precisely because Iran isn’t dictating anything.

Good question. Iran is asking for money, money and more money. Obama spoiled them. Ridiculous negotiating with these parasites.
