In this moment in history there has never been a moment such as this, making this moment in history a historical event that will go down in history

Meanwhile, after Hurricane Rita (and every other storm that's hit SWLA since) in 2005:

because they are expecting rainfall levels higher than any that area has ever seen before.
And if it isn’t (which it won’t be) they’ll proclaim it is, after not bothering to mention what time frame they’re using.

Fear pron.

amplifying every weather event to drive clicks, viewerships, drive economic activity, and most importantly propagate climate change theory.

Marginal hurricane but the flooding caused 60 billion in damage so it was highly destructive. You might want to remove this one from your examples of exaggerated storms because it did cause a massive amount of damage even though it was a weaker hurricane when it hit. It was a 3 at one point so the storm surge was probably stronger than the Cat 1 designation when it hit.

Hyperbole mostly. Clicks on line and add revenues for TWC and Fox Weather. Cat 1 at the Big Bend of FL.....ooh destruction....end of world type of shite. By Wednesday everyone is cleaning up and in a week most in that area will have forgotten the name of the storm.

because it affects the coastal elites.

If it wipes the Delta off the map they don't care.

If it causes their kids to come home from summer camp early it is catastrophic and historic.

Well, factually, for Florida, not bad flooding at all from Anna Maria up past Tarpon Springs

I think they are talking about Charleston potential flooding

Nobody up here had a clue it was a Category 1 nothing burger. They assumed historic meant catastrophic. This is how the dipshit media pushes their garbage on people that don’t know any better

Let's be honest here: it got a lot of attention because of where and who it hit, not just the damage it did.

This.

More rain got dropped in SELA in 2016 and it took Trump shaming Obama and Hillary for the government to even acknowledge the areas.

Baton Rouge had historic flooding in 2016 from a storm that never got classified as tropical
Rainfall from a stalled storm is as bad as the quick storms that move through fast, go ask Houston
